Summary: Callum lived in the North East of England for 40 years. His interests in Tibetan Buddhism took him to the Kagye Samye-Ling Monastery and Tibetan Centre, a Buddhist complex associated with the Karma Kagyu School at Eskdalemiur, Dumfries, Scotland where under the patronage of a lama teacher he spent time studying the ways of eastern psychology, meeting with the Dalai lama in 1994. During the seventies and eighties he was a contributor, researcher and writer for several programmes for his local television broadcaster Tyne Tees Television. From 1982-1987 he featured on the Channel 4 live music programme THE TUBE with a variety of surreal comedy characters earning him a cult following still in existence today, and extensive inclusion on the 2005 Granada TV DVD compilation The Best of the Tube – Series I.
