Troy Hagen is the Director of Ada County Paramedics (www.adaparamedics.org) in Boise, Idaho. Troy has been involved in Emergency Medical Services since 1989. During his tenure with Ada County, he has held many positions from Field Paramedic through Supervisoryroles and into his current administrative position. He also has a background as a volunteer fire fighter, flight medic, reserve deputy sheriff, tactical medic, and technical rescue team commander. Troy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Master’s in Business Administration. He is a frequent lecturer on EMS leadership and management topics, finance, emergency preparedness, and special events planning. As adjunct faculty for Idaho State University, Troy teaches EMS Administration courses for the bachelor's program and emergency preparedness and ICS throughout Idaho to emergency responders from all disciplines. Troy represents EMS as a Commissioner on Idaho’s Emergency Communication Commission. He also served as Medical Commissioner and Incident Commander for the 2009 Special Olympic World Winter Games. Troy is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) and the Finance Committee Chair for the National EMS Advisory Council.
