Summary: Hey! This is Mike Cowles from www.epicmarketer.com and today I'm gonna share with you a great three minute hack in order to find out exactly what you're customers are looking for even if you don't have your own email list. Now, the hack is really simple... First of all, if you already have a list, ask your list. “What's your biggest struggle?” “What's your biggest challenge?” or something like that. Don't make it a survey, leave it open-ended so that they could actually talk to you cause it maybe something you have no idea. Its a challenge for them and now you've got a new opportunity. If you don't have a list, then what you wanna do is simply go to your competitor first and locate what their people are saying on their blogs, on their forums. Another thing that you can do is you can go to Google and you can simply do a search, for whatever your niche is, and then FAQ, which stands for Frequently Asked Questions. So let's say you're in the dog training niche, you can type in “dog training faq” into Google and you can see on other people's site exactly what they are saying to their customers. You can also go to Google groups, Yahoo groups, Facebook groups as well and find out what they're talking about. One of the things that I'm gonna share with you is a quick story about an old James Bond movie and the relevance to this hack. James Bond was put in an island and in there, he was surrounded by all these alligators. They're gonna eat him, he's got nowhere to go. He's got no weapons and what he does is he runs and he jumps on the back of the alligators kinda like hopping from rock to rock to get all the way to safety on the other side of the water. Now, he could have said “You know what, its over. I'm doomed. There's too many problems, look at all these alligators.” Instead he looked at the problem and said “How can I use these problems to my advantage?” and he use that exact problem for his advantage by being to jump on those versus trying to swim and getting eaten by all these alligators. When it comes to having a challenge like right now I don't have an email list. The fact that you know what one is and the fact that there are other people that have list when you don't, these are your alligators. Jump on the back of those and look at the content you're getting from those and use that in order to create your own product.
