Summary: It's a trip to the mythical land of Westeros this week as things get very Etc. The recent conclusion to Game of Thrones, HBO's epic adaptation of the first chapter in the Song of Ice and Fire fantasy saga has inspired us to take a look back at the show and all of its mind-spinning complexities and intricate details. (A) Game of Thrones was difficult to define but has been compared to Lord of the Rings without the magic and battles. It is a show rife with political ambitions and betrayal, the clamouring of factions for control of the Iron Throne, the challenging of taboos in sex, language and violence, lush landscapes, impressive costume design, solid performances and dialogue... and zombies! The format is comprised of a segment of running approximately 45 minutes discussing initial reactions, setting up the layout of the world of Westeros, breaking down the key characters in play and having a general compare and contrast between the show and book. The spoilers in play are relatively mild before moving to the remainder of the show where full spoilers apply as we attempt to discuss each of the 10 episodes chronologically (with varying success).
