Paulo : You recently travelled to Japan, on tour... As a black belt Karatekark, we can imagine it wasn't your first time there. With the Japanese public being one of the most energetic on this planet, your famous rush probably fitted right in! Ark : I agree! Japanese people share an amazing spirit and I showed off my best Karatekark skills. In exchange, they invited me for the country's best sashimi. P : Your new album Arkpokalypse Now was released on Perlon this year. How did your production evolve since Caliente, released on the same label in 2005? On our end, we found the result more bluesy, maybe wiser. Would you be in phase of becoming a kind of House Buddhark? A : Arkpokalypse Now is definitely quite calmer in its whole. But as my Gran'ma used to tell me... "be wary of sleeping waters" or rather "the calm before the storm"! P : In true Shivark fashion, you placed your multiple hands in a variety of collaborations with Cabanne, Mr. Oizo, Pepe Bradock... the list is long, but you also produced remixes or were remixed by Salif Keita, Herbert, Akufen, Isolee, LoSoul or Robag Wruhme. Do you have any ongoing collaborations? Do you still hope to work with someone in particular? A : I just released an EP on Thema, a super label from Brooklyn NY! And I am preparing another one for another Berlin based label. I will also prepare a new album for the end of 201, which will surely feature some special collaborations...
