12/20 Clutch Sports Radio – There’s magic in the air

E.Y.E.S. Radio Network show

Summary: On tonight’s Clutch Sports Radio Darwin, Matt and Stu were joined by Washington Redskins beat reporter Grant Paulsen to open the show. Paulsen discussed the health of RGIII and the game plan going into this weekend’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He told the guys that Griffin’s looking sharp and motivated and the Redskins are gearing up for a playoff run which they aren’t particularly used to. Paulsen broke down the Redskins fantastic rookies and how they have changed the culture of the team and what their rookie performances mean going forward for the future of this team. Paulsen closed with his thoughts on the Redskins if they make the playoffs and what kind of team they can be if they reach the postseason. From there the guys discussed where they stand in their fantasy football playoffs and where they think they are going to end up by season’s end. Stu and Matt asked some lineup questions hoping to pull ahead in their championship games while Darwin wallowed in the fact that he had already been eliminated. LaVar Arrington checked in with his weekly “Pro Picks” segment via Pickfactor.com at 8:30pm. Arrington picked the New York Giants over the Baltimore Ravens and then went on to pick the San Francisco 49ers’ of the Seattle Seahawks. The guys went on to discuss this week’s “Toss Up” stories from the bowels of the internet. Matt found an article where a truck carrying over 900 live turkeys crashed on route 81 which spouted the weird stories of the highway conversation. From there the guys talked about the looming end of the Mayan calendar and if they will be participating in any end of the world activities. It was all football from there leading into the discussion of which conference is stronger. All three of the guys agreed that AFC is the stronger conference led by the Patriots and Broncos and how interesting the playoffs are going to be. In the 9pm hour the guys were joined by BleacherReport.com writer Jesse Reed to discuss this weekend’s NFL matchup and who he thinks needs to make a statement to make a final playoff push. Jesse then broke down what the Redskins need to do to continue their playoff push and whether the health of Griffin will play a huge factor into the game this weekend. From there the guys broke down ESPN’s Rob Parker’s controversial comments and why Griffin did not deserve to be attacked for being an upstanding role model. Griffin’s success was the topic of conversation as the guys discussed their expectations coming into to this season, at the bye week and up until this point. Redskins Longsnapper Nick Sundberg joined the guys at 9:30pm to discuss the season and what lies ahead with the Redskins playoff chances and how the culture in the locker room has changed. Sundberg went on to breakdown the matchup against the Eagles and what the Redskins have been doing to combat the over confidence of Redskins nation and come out with a strong performance. From there Sundberg discussed Griffin’s attitude and how contagious his work ethic has become and how it reflects on the success of the Redskins this season. The guys closed out the show talking about how the Redskins will defeat the Eagles this weekend and how RGIII has completely changed how people think about the Redskins. All three of the guys chose the Redskins to beat the Eagles and wished their fans a MERRY CHRISTMAS.
