What started out as a simple PW adaptation of the Thief universe, soon developed into an original setting with factions, stories, music and ideas all of its own. CITY takes place in various urban locations of an unnamed city, where other modules strive to create vast, sprawling vistas (often terribly) – CITY attempts to create a realistic and believable urban feel, with claustrophobic streets, heavy atmosphere and incredible detailed environments and lighting. That’s not to say CITY is monotonous, the designers have moved toward making each section of the city have its own distinct characteristics and themes, as well as creating lush tropical green houses, brooding sewers and colossal underground scrap yards. “CITY is not a post-apocalypse server, or a survival mod or a steampunk adventure. It’s a fantasy module with the lights off, set within an ongoing period of urban decay.” CITY features an extensive universe and allows players to either create a CITY-native or a new arrival, depending on how much reading they’re prepared to do. New lore has been created for all base races of Neverwinter to allow players to remain comfortable in an otherwise intimidating environment. A customised soundtrack is in place with original music written and orchestrated for the CITY module, as well as using licensed music from film & TV, classical and jazz. Website, Forum and download: http://www.createforum.com/astoriarenaissa/ Features include: • CEP 2.4 • Level range: 1-10 • All Alignments accepted, but all enforced strictly. • Races: All standard races. • Subraces: Two subraces as well as subrace templates for joinable factions. • No class restrictions. If a character becomes a threat to playerbase balancing, actions may be taken. • Low magic. • Progressive items are purchased with money gained from looting. • Unique items are obtainable but are extremely rare. • Characters are limited to 12 respawns, after that they must be raised by a character or npc cleric. • Dead players leave (non-lootable) corpses that can be brought to temples for raising • Characters bleed out upon loss of all hitpoints. • Unique combat system. Critical hits made by monsters are translated into injuries and progressive wounds. • Low monster XP, higher rewards for completing NPC and DM quests. • Low-Medium levelling speed, no timers. • Visually stunning level design. • Reasonable amount of dungeons. At least half of them are designed to progress the full levelling scale. • Custom Monk abilities (currently in BETA) • Base classes adapted for DnD 3.5 • Unique items you won’t find in any guide books or expanded source material. Each with descriptions and lore. • Roughly 150 new monsters, that won’t be found in any existing universe. • Free appearance crafting. • Player-run houses and businesses. A market district is set aside for purely this. • Unique roleplaying experience, CITY offers you the chance to learn a rich and devilishly macabre universe from scratch.
