If you question if our justice system is unfair just listen to the case of Dr. Anis Chalhoub. For years this cardiologist attacked many of his trusting patients, cut them open, and shoved in devices that were not necessary but will remain in them until they die. He profited immensely from this, far greater than a common criminal would. Yet in spite of the clear premeditation and the harm he caused he was only sentenced to serve a 3 1/2 year sentence. Here is our podcast.
This story is taken from my book " What Your Doctor Won't (or Can't) Tell you: The Failures of American Medicine. I interviewed a number of urologists who confirmed the authenticity of this story.

The average physician accepts about $3,000 from Pharma. But there are outliers, that can take home more than $4,000 for a brief dinner talk and fill their pockets with huge quantities of cash. In return some of these doctors appear to prescribe drugs, to their unknowing patients, in exchange for another dinner talk. Here is a simple site to determine what your doctor takes from pharma . The nurses suggest that more staffing might help save lives while the executives fire back by telling us the cost would ultimately hurt patient care and possibly close hospitals. Who do you believe?
About a year back I recorded this brief interview with my patient, friend, and hero Mr. Richard Kennedy. He passed earlier this month unable to celebrate today. I think we should all celebrate this great American.

The Sunshine Act is a foolish, inept, and duplicitous attempt by elite politicians and the elite and the most affluent physicians to discourage working doctors from accepting a cup of coffee from Pharma while it allows huge dollar payments to the elite physicians without public disclosure. This ACT NEEDS TO CLOSE!
