 Bald Bryan | File Type: audio/x-mpeg | Duration: 00:00

A Man In Pain... Long time partner of husband Adam, (going way back to Loveline days) Bryan Bishop AKA Bald Bryan sits down for a one on one conversation on the Tunnel Of Love album. Although Bryan doesn't consider himself a Springsteen fanatic, he does put Bruce up at the top of his list of all time favorite bands. Bryan talks about discovering Bruce at age 12 listening to Tunnel of Love and the Springsteen Live Box set, falling asleep to at night with his headphones. After discussing a little bit of what Bruce and his music means to Bryan, they break down the Tunnel of Love album song by song. The storytelling of Tunnel of Love seemed to have been written during a dark and tumultuous time in Bruce's life. Two years after basking in the glory of his newfound fame, coming off the biggest tour of his lifetime, the Born In the USA tour, this is a man writing about his own identity crisis, about relationships and break ups. As Producer Gary plays each song in consecutive order, Bryan and Lynette dig into the lyrics of each song, pointing out the deep meaning to the story Bruce is telling throughout the album. A real eye opener to any Springsteen fan who never really spent time listening to his most underrated album. This episode is compelling no matter Springsteen fan or just a fan of beautiful music about life and love. This is a must listen. As Bryan's mother pointed out to him when the album came out...this is a man in pain.

 Nils Lofgren | File Type: audio/x-mpeg | Duration: 00:00

August 3rd, Sunday night, I had the honor to sit down with Nils for a one on one interview at his hotel in Los Angeles to discuss his new box set FACE THE MUSIC (out Aug 5). Nils talks about this grassroots project, which is a retrospective look at his work as a solo artist spanning over 5 decades and still going strong. The process of putting together 10 discs, one DVD, 169 tracks, and a beautifully illustrated 136 page booklet with an intro by none other than Dave Marsh, and produced by wife and all around sweetheart Amy Lofgren. We go back to his roots, how he discovered the joy of music, what it was like touring at the ripe age of 19, opening for his hero Jimi Hendrix. We talk about what these last few years have been like traveling the world with the E Street Band. Nils shares the differences and joys he gets from being part of a team which is the E Street band, to being a solo artist, and frontman of his own band. Telling memorable stories of different performances throughout his early career up to today. I learned what the correct term is of his famous twirls, while doing one of a his famous searing guitar solos, what it was like performing in tremendous amount of pain on the Magic tour. One incredible story in particular he shares is a task (I don't know what else to call it) Bruce decided to hand him in the middle of the High Hopes tour in Europe, only a true musical savant could master! It was an hour and 30 minutes of un-edidited, non-stop fascinating stories from a man who is humorous and relatable, makes you feel comfortable all while forgetting that he is one serious Rock Star!!

Artie tells the story of receiving a phone call from The Boss himself at his mother's house when he just got out of rehab. And they talk about how Mario Lopez would make a terrible Spanish Johnny.
