News? The Hobbit: Overhill and Underhill is getting some article love. Check out the FFG website for info on the upcoming "Saga Expansion". While you're there, download v1.3 FAQ now available! With the coming of the last AP in the Dwarrowdelf cycle, Shadow and Flame, we thought it prudent to discuss Master Elrond and his ring of power, Vilya (both packed in the AP). We gave an open invite to Caleb Grace -Lead Designer of The Hobbit, Overhill and Underhill-, Nate French and Lukas Litzsinger to come on the show and answer questions about game design and the creative process. Proof of how vain we really are. /fingerscrossed
Hero spotlight: Elladan, Elrohir, Hama and Aragorn. Then we make our way a little more into the Dwarrowdelf in our continuing live adventure!

Shadows of Mirkwood Review
Welcome back! This episode we talk about the Carrock and how it's intertwined in The Hobbit and in the Conflict at the Carrock Adventure Pack. It plays a small part in the history of Middle-Earth but it plays a centerpiece to much goings on. Tragic the Blathering is back with a wicked-cool Lord of the Rings: The Card Game addon for the LackeyCCG program. If you are interested in playing LOTR LCG with friends or just other players over the 'net, you've got to try this out! It's a table-top simulation that allows 2+ players to enjoy the game over the internet. Check Tragic's FFG post here to get all the detail and links to his video tutorials. Thanks for your efforts, Tragic! The latest preview and Khazad-Dum reveals are also up on the FFG's LOTR LCG news page. And best of all, we'll be announcing our Khazad-Dum giveaway winner on our next episode! My hope is a pre-Christmas release but rumor has it that it may push into January. /sadface If you are a player of Lord of the Rings Online or would like to try it, there's a great podcast that can help you ease into it. LOTRO Academy is a podcast for the casual player as well as the new player. It'll help you figure out all the not-so-obvious features and play of LOTRO so you can minimize the learning curve. Check it out on iTunes or on their website!
Well, this episode is an experiment in recording in the wee hours of the morning. In fact, recorded at 1am. If I sound like I've drank too much Nyquil I'm sorry. We really did enjoy putting this show together because we got to list and explain the top 10 cards we thought mostly matched the history and spirit of Middle-Earth. I wasn't sure how much our lists would differ but they were quite different. I hope you enjoy listening as much we did recording. If you haven't seen the short fanfilm by Independent Online Cinema "The Hunt for Gollum", check it out! It's made to be a prequel to the Lord of the Rings films and was inspired by them as well. At their page, you can also download the soundtrack from their film for free. If you're a Middle-Earth history buff and you play -or don't play- Lord of the Rings Online you really should give the podcast "Secrets of Middle-Earth" by Father Roderick a listen. He is a big LOTR fan and very knowledgable about the history of Middle-Earth and as he's exploring the digital world of M-E, he gives very interesting background and story to the places he explores. Very high production quality and a very entertaining show that you don't want to pass up. We've been asked when we will announce our winner for the Khazad-Dum Expansion giveaway. We're wanting as many listeners as possible to be eligible so we'll announce our winner the week before we expect the expansion to release. And as I realised in this episode, that is rapidly approaching! My guess would be episode 9 will be our announcement episode.
The Dead Marshes, the mass grave of Middle Earth.
We're on Facebook and we're coming out swinging! The focus of the page is to continue the discussion after you've listened to the 'cast but our launch announcement is your chance to win a copy of the Khazad-Dum Expansion Set! All you have to do is head over and "like" the page to be entered to win! We will be randomly selecting our winner as the release date edges closer. CONTEST UPDATE: For those listeners who do not like or use Facebook, any comment made in the comment section of the Episode 5 posting will be considered an entry into the contest. You may also send us an email at thefellowshipofthecards@gmail.com with the word "Contest" in the subject line as an entry. I want the contest to be accessible to every listener. Zorbec has an excellent and heavily armed deckbuilder which doubles as a very useful player resource. You want this. Gandalf breaks into Dol Guldur a couple times to verify the identity of it's warden and ruler and eventually drives him out. If it wasn't for Gandalf's persistance and dedication to duty, "The Hobbit" would likely have never happened. This episode sees our Storytime and PlayerXP segment reversed. No biggie. Self observation: Every episode I seem to have 2-3 words that just seem to be my favorite. Kooky
