Professor Carl Hart - an Associate Professor at Columbia University.   Host Monica Richardson will interview Carl Hart (born 1966) is an associate professor of psychology and psychiatry at Columbia University. Hart is known for his research in drug abuse and drug addiction. Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Carl Hart has won the NAACP Image Award for outstanding literary work and Hart was the first tenured African American professor of sciences at Columbia University. Rachel Bernstein is an Educator and a Marriage, Family and Child Therapist. She has a private practice in Encino, CA.   While continually meeting with clients who present a variety of concerns and issues, Rachel has simultaneously been working for the past 24 years with people affected by cults.   Rachel Bernstein has been the Coordinator and Psychotherapist at the Cult Clinic of Los Angeles (now closed), and the Therapist and Community Education Coordinator at the Cult Hotline and Clinic of the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services in New York.   She has trained former cult-members, and families who have lost a loved one to a cult, to go out and speak about their experiences. She has run support groups for former cult-members and groups for the loved ones of current cult-members.   Rachel is on the Clinical Board of the International Cultic Studies Association, is an Editorial Advisor for the Cultic Studies Journal, and a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.   Rachel has spoken at many cult-related and human rights conferences, and has been interviewed in newspapers, magazines, on local radio, as well as BBC News and Japanese radio. Rachel has appeared on ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, Dateline NBC, Fox News, and CBC News in Canada. She offered techniques to help the case workers more successfully engage with these children, and help them learn they don’t have to be afraid of the world outside the compound. 

Join host Monica Richardson and Jon Stewart (not Jon Stewart from the Daily show) but Jon from London, England,  for a live 1 hour .  Jon Stewart is a former professional musician who enjoyed success in the 1990s with eight hit singles and three hit albums in the UK. He's now a senior lecturer on the history of popular culture and popular music.  Jon was introduced to AA in Los Angeles in 1999, and got sober in London in the Summer of 2000.  After fourteen years of grateful recovery , including much service and sponsorship activity in AA, he quit the fellowship when he reclaimed his atheistic worldview.  Jon currently blogs about "Leaving AA, Staying Sober" at jonsleeper.wordpress.com and speaks on the history of AA (and the need for more public awareness of science-based, secular treatments for alcoholism) at Humanist Society and Skeptics in the Pub meetings across the UK.

Why are Nurses being coereced and extorted to AA for 5 years , forced to attend 3 days a week? How did this happen. Why and how did it get so entangled. I am shocked by what some Nurses have explained to me what is going on around the country. This is outrageous  and must be stopped. This will be a one hour show to talk about how we can connect, become  more Un anonymous and use social media to change our culture and world regarding SUD, Substance Use Disorder. Alcohol and drug over use issues. etc. GIve a voice to the voiceless and support those who have been harmed by AA members. ALso change what is happening in the courts, and clinics and hospitals. Educate -Law, medical students as to what true medicine is when it comes to SUD and how can we get a religous cult out of our mental health and social health system. Its bad folks I have to admit....AA is so infested it feels like a "GOLIATH". I guess I'm DAVID....we are "David" ...I will have the lines open to call in.
