 MDC.235 DJ Scorpion | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:36

Bone rattling jungle madness from Sydney's DJ Scorpion! "It’s a pretty dark mix at times, which I didn’t intend for it to be initially but as I was sorting it all out I was like fuck it, this is all the stuff I’m massively vibing on at the moment. It was recorded at home in my lounge room with numerous cups of jasmine tea and a big sage stick burning. I’m usually a fucking mess when I record mixes, they really get inside my head for some reason. So this time I wanted to make sure I was extra chill! Shout out to my housemates for putting up with me. The real standout track for me is the J-Shadow remix of Warzou’s Run. I first heard it at the airport, coming back from a trip where I took a bit of a conscious break from listening to music and it rattled me to the core, like I could feel it in my stomach. I’m always looking for that real physical response to music, I think that’s why I like jungle, dnb and dub so much. I’m also obsessed with Tama Gucci cover of Thotiana by Blueface which closes out the mix. It’s the perfect mix of euphoria and frivolity. I always want to make sure I’m not taking things too seriously so this track was the perfect closer."

 MDC.234 Saoirse | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:27:31

A 15 year veteran of the UK radio, club and festival scene and a seriously accomplished DJ with an ear for the undiscovered and a feel for those euphoric goose bump moments, we're chuffed to throw it over to London's Saoirse ahead of her upcoming Australian visit.. "It was kind of weird because I had to pretend to be somewhere else when I put this together, it was cold and about 5 degrees here in London but I wanted to it feel like it was summer. So I closed my eyes when listening back and tried to see if it felt like summer and I think it kind of does. :D Hope you do too!"

 MDC.233 Toni Yotzi | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:59:53

Well-spiced rave NRG with a local lord of the blend. "There’s upcoming Sam Brickel on Steeplejack, one of the most interesting labels’ out of Australia atm, a very tightly packed release schedule coming up too, buckle up! Also a spicy Urulu remix of Jeigo - Fluerella...everything Taylor (Urulu, Liquid Earth) has sent through recently has been so so good. Classic Thomas P. Heckman plus as per touch of ‘classy trap’ haha, very into Brazillian producer VHOOR."

 MDC.232 Dust-e-1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:44:53

Live from MUTEK with Montreal's master of chill. "Ya! It was a blast to play at MUTEK this summer! I did so on Friday around 6pm at the outdoor stage, sun was streaking out over the plaza (see picture) and people were filtering over from work, lying down on the floor and vibing, getting their evening going. The mood of my set catered well I think, very happy with how it all turned out! My setup was using one of my three laptops, midi controller and a recently acquired synthesizer. After thinking and working on the set for many months, it all came together the week before - finished up some old ideas and jammed out a bunch of new ones. That’s how things tend to go for me, many months of thinking and not really doing much, then a week or so of frenzied activity, getting stuff done. One or two things will be out at some stage but the large majority probably won’t? I’m not sure really… we’ll see."

 MDC.231 Alison Swing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:21:04

Bouncin' club workouts with the Dig Deeper LA boss. "I grabbed a bunch of new tracks I’ve been really into as well as some unreleased goodies from friends, old favorites and records I’ve snagged on the road. I recorded this at my home in Berlin. I especially love one of the new tracks from Das Komplex on Love on the Rocks’ forthcoming compilation. I tried to not play too many Australian tracks but I couldn’t help myself!"

 MDC.230 DJ D.DEE | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:45:16

Transport to paradise with Pacific Rhythm label don DJ D.DEE... "I recorded the mix at Paradise during the afternoon on a beautiful Wednesday here in Vancouver. I wanted to approach the mix with the same energy I would if I was playing the warm up set there, while also sharing a few forthcoming tunes from the label and friends. Parties in Vancouver don’t tend to go as long as they do overseas so a lot of the time when you go out dancing by 1am it’s already quite full on. I guess this is what that sounded like in my head when it was 3 in the afternoon."

 MDC.229 Midnight Tenderness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:58:17

Silky modern funk, house and dreamy garage jams cut live from the MPC of Melbourne's Midnight Tenderness. "This was recorded live at Freda’s bar in Sydney during the Freedom Sounds 3rd birthday party with Mike Who, Daniel Lupica, Merph and Astronafrica. It’s an hour live-set performed with an MPC Live, Elektron Digitone and Digitakt. It features five tracks from my previous two EPs, three forthcoming bits and four brand new jams that came about in the process. Hope you dig!!"

 MDC.228 Haruka | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:45

Japanese techno madness from the notorious Future Terror DJ. About the mix.. "It's based on a set at Tokyo Techno Society held in Nagoya the other day. The second track is Wata Igarashi's new one from Bunker New York, sounds amazing on the floor."

 MDC.227 Nathan Micay | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:34:34

Early trance and tripped hypnotics from Berlin via Toronto. About the mix.. "My last studio mix was for Resident Advisor in January and I feel like I might’ve gone a bit hard on that one and focused on tricks over tracks. This time I decided to keep it real simple. I went to a friend’s with a bag of 40 records and a few tracks on a USB and recorded it in an afternoon (then nudged some volumes in Ableton). It’s all quite trancey but in a lighter sense of the word. That beautiful time when house, trance and whatever else all seemed to cross over for a brief moment. It’s a bit lighter than what I usually get to play in the club. There are some new ones from myself and a couple of pretty hard to find tracks that will be out on a new re-issue label I’m starting this fall. Fuck the sharks."

MDC.226 DJ Fart In The Club | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:21:12

Melancholic rave tracks from the Imaginary Friend party starter. About the mix.. "I developed the first part of the mix based on the feeling I got every time walking out of my parents place during my stay in Seoul. It was this peaceful apartment complex surrounded by mountains and looking at the tall buildings always gave me some sort of melancholic nostalgia of the time when I was living in Seoul. Seoul is a huge city and to go anywhere central from my parents place I had to take at least an hour ride of public transportation. I had to take a bus to the nearest subway station and that was where everything starts to get so hectic and disorientating. I wanted to portray these scenes in the first part of the mix and afterwards I built the mix with some of old and new fav tracks I like to play out."

 MDC.225 Seb Wildblood | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:37

Ambient house moods from the south London multi-label head. About the mix.. "This one actually is the first in a while that I’ve put no label bits in. It’s just a bunch of tracks from labels and artists I’m digging at the moment. I generally take a lot of time to record a mix but this one actually slipped out real fast, which I reckon’s a good sign?!"

 MDC.224 Unknown Mobile | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:12:46

Hazy atmospheres from Pacific Rhythm's latest downtempo don Unknown Mobile. About the mix.. "I recorded this mix at the @n10-as radio studio, and tried to keep it pretty chill, even though it ended up being a little tripped out at points. The 2nd track in the mix is definitely a special one to mention, it’s a new project I am working on with Daniel Rincon. We just wrapped it up so are looking into options for releasing it now."

 MDC.223 Modular Project | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:41

Wavey modern Italo from the Milan based hardware duo. About the mix.. "We recorded this mix to make people stand up and dance! The opening track of the mix is Perel’s remix of our new single that will be released on Rebirth at the end of July. We've included tracks that we're excited about at the moment... tracks that represent our sound or that we've been playing frequently in our sets."

 MDC.222 Nachtbraker | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:53:16

Two hours of bumpin' moods and grooves with the Quartet Series boss. About the mix.. "I recorded it at home on 2 Technics SL1210 MKII and an Allen and Heath Xone:23 mixer. It’s about two hours of vinyl that I recently bought and have been playing out at gigs. I’ve been spending a bit too much money on records lately, so doing this mix justifies the euros spent maybe haha. While I was recording the mix I actually got a few orders delivered to my home so in the last hour there’s a couple of fresh records from that."

 MDC.221 R.Kitt | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:02:43

Fast moving techno from Dublin's R.Kitt. About the mix.. "Lots of melody and energy. It was the first mix I recorded with a plan for a long time which was exciting for me. I do a monthly radio show on Dublin Digital Radio but I never plan it so to approach a mix with a clear idea was refreshing. I suppose I wanted it to be immersive and somewhat multifunctional. One you could imagine dancing to but also one you could lash on in the car for a night time drive down the motorway or in the headphones for a run when the sun’s going down (I don’t run but this sounds nice to me). But sure listen, don’t let me tell you how to listen to it, I’m sure you’ll find the best way for yourself.. The last track is an unreleased one by myself so I guess that is worth mentioning. But they’re all special in their own way."
