THE 344-WORD PITCH  
I want to share my creative process in 
making music and in
writing scholarship—to make available hundreds of songs, films, essays,
fragments, interviews, zines, sketches
, weird recordings, and cat photos.  
 
If you're here, then chances are that you've read my books
and articles on 
industrial music (Assimilate), punk, hip-hop, They Might
Be Giants
 (a 33 1/3rd volume with Elizabeth Sandifer), and radical politics. 
 
Or maybe you've heard the gothic-tinged music I’ve made with
the bands 
SEEMING and ThouShaltNot. These
projects have been an important part of my work, but ultimately only a fraction
of it. This page is where I'll be sharing
the rest with to the people who care most—
you. 
 
 
If you want the interview transcripts from the 
Assimilate
book, or the original demos of your favorite songs by my band, or private
concerts, you will definitely get those here. 
 
 
But because it can feel so depressing when the world cares
more about our "personal brand" than our actual selves, 
I'm going
against the grain and am using Patreon as a place where being "on
brand" matters less than being creative, free, honest, and interesting.  I do more than one thing.  So do you.  Let's make a world where that's okay.
 
 
And so I'll also offer my creative experiments, my classical
and folk music, my really goofy songs, poetry, fiction, film, thematic playlists—all
the stuff that constitutes being 
a real thinking and breathing whole person. 

 
Anything you contribute will go directly to the costs of artmaking,
music gear, traveling for performances, interviews, research, time, all
that. This is where I ask for your help—though
truth be told I'm already grateful that you've even made this far down the page.
