That was my first intro to DJ Mano's old school house and B'more breaks sound. I didn't know Mano at the time, but my friends and I all respected his style. Fast-forward about three years. I'm at a DMC showcase at NYC's Irving Plaza and happen to strike up a conversation with this cat next to me. It turns out to be none other than Mano himself - he had just moved back to NYC from NC. In only a few short years, DJ Mano has emerged as one of the most well known and respected DJs in the city. In addition to spinning at various clubs and bars, Mano consistently spins at events, ranging from the NBA “All Star Festival" to MTV’s “Campus Invasion Tour 2006.” In 2003, he was the DJ for the Tony Award winning “RUSSELL SIMMONS DEF POETRY JAM on BROADWAY.” He was also the featured deejay for “DEF POETRY JAM’S UK Tour” at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2005, DJ Mano was featured on BET’s “Rap City” with host Mad Linx. Spinning Hip-Hop, Reggae, Reggaeton, House, Go-Go and R&B, DJ Mano has a dangerous touch for rocking diverse crowds and the uncanny ability to play crowd-pleasing songs. DJ Mano is a genius on the turntables and exemplifies nothing but true, pure talent. This particular mix is a throwback to the "Massive House Mix" days -- straight up bumpin ass jack-your-body style house.
