Summary: <p>In this episode, we explore the field of genetic counseling and its significance in both research and clinical settings. We talk with board certified genetic counselor Magan Trottier about her path to genetic counseling, the ethics behind genetic testing results, and what direct-to-consumer tests can tell you.</p> <p>Magan Trottier received a master’s degree in Molecular Genetics and another in Genetic Counseling, both from the University of Toronto. In addition to counseling, she has over ten years of research experience and has published papers in prestigious journals like Cell Stem Cell and the Journal of the American Medical Association. She is an adjunct professor in the Long Island University Post Genetic Counseling Graduate Program.
