Episode 4: Eating Disorders amongst First Australians with Dr Adam Burt

InsideOut Institute Podcast show

Summary: New research suggests that eating disorders are much more common among First Australians, compared to non-indigenous Australians. The University of Western Sydney research shows that 27 per cent of Indigenous adults have an eating disorder, compared to 16 per cent of non-Indigenous adults. There’s a similar story when it comes to young people. We speak to lead researcher, Dr Adam Burt, who is a proud member of the Wiradjuri people from Central New South Wales about his findings.
