DABCC Radio: Cloud, Desktop, Mobility, Virtualization Podcasts (Citrix, VMware, Microsoft) show

Summary: In episode 218, Douglas Brown interviews Randy Cook, Co-Founder and CTO at FSLogix. Randy and Douglas dive deep in to the FSLogix Apps application deployment / policy management solution. Randy explains why they built it, how it works, why we should care, and much more! Randy also details what’s new in the upcoming 1.5 version. What’s new in version 1.5: Enhanced Java Support - We've streamlined the ability to specify what version of Java should be used with a particular URL or a particular Java program. This is useful in situations where a URL or an application requires an older version of Java, but everything else should use the latest, most secure version of Java. Reporting - The FSLogix Apps client can be configured to report information to a central server. The admin can view this information via a web interface. Reports include: The computers that have the agent installed What version of the agent is installed The last time the client reported to the server What Rule Sets are installed on a computer Given a reference set of Rule Set files, which computers are in compliance Enhanced Font Support - In addition to the ability to control the visibility of font files, we now also register and deregister the fonts so that the user experience is seamless.
