Behavior Talk 005: Keri Gorman

Behavior Talk show

Summary: This is another special APDT episode of Behavior Talk. The featured interview is with Keri Gorman. She discusses her experience as an animal trainer at Sea World, and her application of marker-based training methods to TAGteaching. Her work includes using this approach with at-risk youth in the juvenile justice system. Keri is a former animal trainer at Sea World in California, where she worked will many different species of animals, including birds of prey, river otters, and parrots. It was during her time there that she began using marker-based teaching methods, or what can sometimes be referred to as clicker-training. She carried this experience over to her work for the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, where she worked as Director of Education and Behavior. It was here that she began an award-winning program using TAGteach methods with at-risk youth in the Juvenile Justice system.
