Innovative Dementia Hospital Wristband Program

Transition Aging Parents show

Summary: Please join us for the first segment in a very special 4 part evening series.  This evening, I will be joined by our guest, Gary Joseph LeBlanc, founder of the new Alzheimer’s/Dementia Hospital Wristband Program, recently launched nationally at a major Florida hospital.  This is a truly comprehensive program to ensure loved ones with dementia receive the most appropriate, quality care while in the hospital. Gary is the author of “Staying Afloat in a Sea of Forgetfulness,” “Managing Alzheimer’s and Dementia Behaviors” and co- author of “While I Still Can”. Also, a weekly columnist of “Common Sense Caregiving” published in the Tampa Tribune and Hernando Today and many other health publications. He also founded the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Hospital Wristband Project His writings and speaking events utilize his 3,000 plus days and nights of personal caregiving experience to help other Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers cope with the everyday challenges and emotional struggles of caring for the memory-impaired. Gary will discuss his innovative program (born out of his own personal experience) and its benefits to patients, families and medical staff.  He’ll share about the program’s national launch in Florida and how other hospitals can learn about and implement this incredible program to a truly under-recognized and under-served population. During our 45 minute segment, you will be able to submit your questions for Gary via the web chat or our call-in number.
