Behavioral relationship expectations vary from one individual to another. What is acceptable to one couple is a major violation to another! Let's take the seemingly innocent act of flirting while in a relationship. So called innocent flirting for many of us is how we got involved with the person that we are presently with, there are exceptions to the rule but for the most part, we who are involved and have a significant other can remember the playful times when we have gone through the motions of the human mating ritual called flirting. While it seems to be something for many that is a harmless endeavor, it can possibly spell disaster when already engaged in a relationship as the temptation to take things to the next level become too strong. With our modern society having access to many high tech discreet forms of communication (Text messaging & Photo sharing, Facebook messaging etc.), the advanced level of seduction that usually comes right after a few seemingly innocent flirting encounters has been taken up to a whole new dangerous level usually with disastrous results! How can most who have no control simply flirt without wondering how good the forbidden fruit tastes? Can we resist the temptation to take things to the next level after tensions have mounted to unbearable levels? With infidelity levels rapidly increasing to record numbers, is flirting with someone other than your mate a cancer that plays a role in the initial breakdown or slow burn of a relationship? If this is the case can we safely ask "is flirting while in a relationship acceptable" if the results are usually distrastrous? Is flirting a precursor to cheating?
