Summary: Dr. Marsha D. Daria, is Coordinator of the Elementary Education Program and a Professor in the Department of Education and Educational Psychology at Western Connecticut State University, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in child development, curriculum strategies, and contemporary issues in education. She received her Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, M.Ed. from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and her B.A. and A.A. from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. Her research has focused on multiracial children, contemporary and health issues related to school age children. She has served on various university and professional committees, and has presented at numerous state, regional, and national conferences. In addition to teaching at WCSU since 1995, she has also taught at the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to her working in higher education, Dr. Daria served as an Elementary School Principal, Dean of Instruction, and as a public school teacher. She is the proud mother of two biracial children.
