Eye Basics 101

The pilot episode is now available. You can also subscribe in iTunes (direct link) … just search for “Eye Basics” and you’ll find the show!

  • Episode 1: The Basic Eye Exam temp-art
    Runtime: 63 minutes.

    The initial episode explains the motivation behind audio teaching. Topics covered include vision checking, pupil (the swinging light test), pressure, EOMs, confrontational fields, slit-lamp exam, and the dilated eye exam.

  • Episode 2: Eye Anatomy temp-art
    Runtime: 53 minutes.

    The 2nd episode discussed basic eye anatomy of the globe. This includes the anatomy of the cornea, iris, lens, retina, and optic nerve … among other structures covered. I’ve attempted to keep this short and relevant to students (medical and optometry students especially).

The show is coming soon! This is my first recording. Please let me know how it sounds and if you have any problems with either the streaming player or download link. I’m still working the kinks out and streamlining production flow. Thanks!

This is a fabulous project. I listened to the audioportion., will there be be slides or videos to come with it/?. What an invaluable tool for any of us. I am asenior Ophthalmologist in my pre-retirement years. I studied with Stephen Drance’s program, in 1976, and I and remember Dr.Lawton Smith’s lectures. Bravo to you in your fine work. Sincerely, Billalooking forward to what is coming .

@Claudio: Thanks

@Dr. Snow: Thanks for listening to the episode. I’m not sure about videos (the production was intended as audio) but I may create some simple slides to go along with the audio (they should be easy to syncronize). Appreciate the feedback and taking the time to listen.
