Fireside Chats Issue 354: Space Fairies, Jesus, Mohawks and More!

Thanksgiving is over dear Firesiders, but that doesn’t mean we can’t tell you what we are thankful for. As we all slowly gain any semblance of normalcy after our turkey hangover, let Mendte, Maurer, and Features tell you what they are thankful for this year in comics. We may complain from time to time on this show, but now is the time to look at the positives of the comic industry in 2018. The guys primarily focus their thanks on comics, movies, and TV. I know we are all still sad over the loss of one of the most influential figures in comics. Stan Lee helped shape a lot of us into who we are and what we’ve become. He’s shown us countless times right and wrong, good and evil, through both his work and life. Stan Lee will be sorely missed, but let’s not wallow in our grief. Let’s instead do our best to celebrate the incredible life of our Generalissimo. We should all be so luck to not only see the age of 95, but change the world on our way. Stan is an inspiration to us here at Fireside, and today we celebrate the awesomeness that is Stanley Martin Lieber. Celebrate with us. Welcome to Fireside!

Fireside Faithful. We lost our “generalissimo” this week. Stan “The Man” Lee joined his beloved Joanie on Monday and that is the only news that matters to us right now. Mendte, Mr. Maurer, P. Features, and Baby Huey try to hold it together long enough to remember Stan. For many of us Stan created our favorite heroes, a universe for them to play in, an escape for us to lose ourself, and a community for us to belong. Stan fought for diversity, equality, and inclusion. But he did so with a smile on his face and a welcoming heart. Without Stan there would be no Fireside. Without Stan we are not even sure who we would be as individuals. So thank you Stan. Goodbye from Fireside.

Well Firesiders, enough time has passed for the non bingers to finish, so it’s time to head back to Hell’s Kitchen. That’s right Fireside Faithful, it’s time to let the Devil out.
