 EP 11 - Trademark Registration | How I met JAY-Z's Attorney | Inside The Billion Dollar Empire | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 680

Donate to support the Podcast: http://bit.ly/VicRosePod Watch the YouTube video here: https://bit.ly/tvrs_ep11 Here is the step by step process on trademarking your artist stage name: If you want to become great and successful, you have study the best in the world in your industry. That is why I studied Jay-Z's process on trademarking his stage name. Even though he began using his name officially in 1996, he filed for four different classes of trademark in the year 2000 with the help and expertise of a highly skilled lawyer.  After five years of consecutive use from the date of federal registration, a trademark may be declared incontestable. An incontestable mark is immune from challenge except if it has become the generic term for the goods or abandoned for nonuse, or if the registration was acquired under fraudulent conditions. The benefit of declaring your trademark incontestable is that it will save you a lot of money, time and stress in lawsuits. It will make it easier, faster and cheaper to prevent someone else from using your name. Then after 10 years from the date of federal registration, you'll have to file and renew your trademark. You will need to do this every ten years. By searching up your favorite idols, brands, companies, celebrities that you look up to in the trademark database, you get an insight on the exact way that they filed for their trademarks. You also will find out who their attorneys are. The will also help you discover the most skilled and trusted lawyer that specialize in intellectual property. I’m taking a complex topic and simplifying it to make it easier to understand  All the information I am about to share with you took me years to learn from trial and error, interning at major record labels, million dollar studios and from college and getting a bachelors degree in music business.  Especially when it comes to music, YouTube should be used as a traffic source to redirect your fans to your streaming or subscription services. My biggest mistake was not putting my songs on streaming sites in the beginning.  I worked so hard to make 7 of my videos go viral on YouTube & my listeners had nowhere else to go once they finished watching the video.  I thought I was rebelling and standing up for a great cause like Taylor Swift by just putting my music on iTunes but I should’ve realized that. I’m not Taylor Swift! lol  Even if the streaming royalties were fractions of a penny. If I would’ve simply put my songs on streaming sites early on I would’ve made thousands of dollars more.  I have a total of 1.6 million streams on all platforms $2,923 from 1.6 million streams  When I did the math for only the first 1 million streams, I made $1,826.25 I made $0.0018 per stream or $1.83 per 1,000 streams You’ll see the different pay rates for each streaming platform in the video. One of the two I talk about are YouTube and Napster. With YouTube being the least at $0.0007  per stream- Just to put this into perspective - that’s 7% of a penny per stream. And Napsters being the most at 1.9 of a penny per stream. That’s almost 2 cents per stream! You’d be surprised to find out that many artists think that you have to get signed to put your songs on streaming platforms. There’s many companies like Distrokid and United Masters that help make the process of getting your songs on streaming platforms, quick, easy and painless.  EP 9 - Inside the WORLD’S BIGGEST Starbucks | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 640

It’s surprisingly located in the United States. In the city where Barack Obama, Kanye West and Chance the Rapper are from. Chicago, Illinois is the home to the world’s biggest Starbucks. Even if you’re not a fan of buying expensive coffee, waiting in long lines outside in the freezing cold, this Starbucks is a place you should consider visiting at least once in your lifetime. You’ll be impressed by what you’ll see when I finally get inside. The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago first opened up in early November of 2019 It’s located on the corner of North Michigan Avenue and Erie Street on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. This Starbucks is one of its kind with 35,000 square feet of space and 5 floors. The first thing you see when entering the building is the 56-foot cask, where coffee beans go to rest and de-gas after the roasting process. On the first floor, you'll see the Probat L-25 roaster which roasts small batches of Starbucks Reserve coffee beans from all over the world. The roasting team gave it the nickname “Charlotte”. The next things you may notice are the spinning board, coffee bar and the gift shop. Starbucks was selling clothing and other accessories. One of the other unique things that this Starbucks has is the curved escalator, which is the first of its kind in the Midwest. Visitors ride the curved escalator to all 5 floors encircling around the 56-foot cask. The beans travel through small pipes on the ceiling and into the Reserve Coffee Bar to be made into fresh coffee. The 2nd floor is filled with freshly made pastries, pizza, salad and pasta from the famous Italian baker Rocco Princi. (Which is exclusively made for Starbucks at this location). Also all pastries are baked in their ovens by the chefs. I highly recommend trying out their exclusive Princi margarita pizza, eggplant rigatoni, Tiramisu and Hazelnut Bianco Latte. I would've tried everything but I rather not break my wallet or bank account. lol Many of the food selections are not available at any other regular Starbucks. Their customer service is enhanced with servers in the dining area constantly taking guests orders, moving chairs around and cleaning up the dining tables. You’ll have to watch the video to the end to see what’s on the 4th flour. The 5th floor is an outdoor rooftop terrace where you get to admire the Michigan Avenue Chicago views while you drink your fancy coffee. It’s impressive what the Starbucks Company has accomplished so far. Over the years Starbucks has grown it’s brand and loyal customer base to a level that many fortune 500 companies dream to achieve one day. It’s owner and former CEO Howard Schultz thought long term since the beginning. What makes Starbucks different from other well known food brands is that it’s not a franchise. Although this means slower growth when starting a company, it gives the company a huge advantage to sustainability, profitability and lasting control. Alright, well I hope you enjoyed this video! I make these kinds of videos because when I saw OTHER people like Graham Stephan, Shelby Church and Reyes The Entrepreneur making videos like this, I found it EXTREMELY inspirational. Seeing that was motivation for me to do the same. I also made this video because I really believe now is the BEST and easiest time to make a YouTube channel your side hustle by sharing your valuable information and passions about whatever you happen to be interested in, IF you monetize correctly. You don't have to be getting many views to make a significant amount. This is great news for anyone that is interested in creating content, because they don't have to chase the clickbait-y titles or brand deals as much, they can make more videos of things they are interested in and have the means to hire people, upgrade their camera equipment, etc. to produce better free videos for everyone enjoy.  Also keep in mind, this is just a portion of the earnings YouTubers make. Most people also monetize through affiliate links, brand deals, merch, etc. This is why you may have seen many YouTubers posting about how they bought the new Tesla cyber truck lol.  Looking back now I would’ve never dreamed that YouTube would‘ve helped paved the way for so many peoples careers. It’s helped me build relationships and make connections in the Industry. I am so grateful for having YouTube as a way to do what I love and be heard.  Let me know if you guys have any questions I'll be glad to answer! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/vicroseofficial/support

EP 6 - Successful YouTuber Advice For 13-35 Year Olds | Millenial Musicians | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:04:07

Donate: https://anchor.fm/vicroseofficial/support This is my advice for everyone between the ages of 13 - 35 on how to be successful on YouTube. - enjoy! Add me on Instagram: VicRoseOfficial Consistency is crucial for success You have to put in the work even when you don’t feel like it. We all have those days where it becomes tough. But what separates the average artists from the legendary artists is that they are consistent. Make 5 songs a day. Mixtape Lil Wayne was making 5 songs a day. That’s 1,825 songs a year! Stop worrying about being good enough. The truth is there’s always going to be someone better than you But people don’t care about who’s the best singer, rapper or musician. They just care who’s consistent. We as people tend to gravitate to what we’re familiar with. What feels safe to us because we’ve seen it enough times. The same reason why we go to Starbucks verso. Dunkin Donuts or vice versa. It’s one of the laws of branding. You’re going to keep getting better as you keep creating, practicing, learning and putting out content. The true artist smells breaths eats sleeps shits their art. They think about it and do it every single waking moment, even till when they’re asleep. So don’t sell yourself short and bless the world with your art. I hope this was very insightful and maybe inspire you to get started on that thing you’ve been putting off for a while.  EP 4 - Why 90% of You Aren't Getting Results | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:06:25

Donate: https://anchor.fm/vicroseofficial/support Judgement is stopping so many people from becoming the legendary artists that they were born to be. The best art is created when you don’t judge yourself or change or stop doing and releasing content because of someone’s stupid opinion. Stop using being perfectionist as an excuse and be real with yourself and see that your fear of other people’s opinions is stopping you from being great Stop worrying about looking or sounding like somebody else. Everything that you hear has been created already. You’re just hearing a new remix of it. That’s why Pablo Picasso famously said the quote “Good Artist Copy Great Artist Steal”. Now I don’t believe you should steal anyone’s work. But I do believe that everything has already been done in some shape or form. Its our job to just be ourselves and let what makes us unique shine through our art. That’s why cover artists are cover artists and artists that make quote on quote original music have their own identity. And even they get put in a box as well sometimes when they get asked who do you sound like. But both cover artists and artists that make original music are both valuable. I’m known for doing both, I’m shifting towards creating more original music because I have a different purpose and vision than when I was younger getting free quick attention and monetizing it. I’m focused on creating authenticity. Judgment is stoping you from creating, learning growing and being consistent So don’t be so hard on yourself. Start creating music and bless the world by releasing it. I hope this was very insightful and maybe inspire you to get started on that thing you’ve been putting off for a while.  EP 3 - Why Podcasters Are The NEW Rappers | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 00:05:27

What's up podcast listeners.  Today's episode is about how podcasting is becoming more popular and more people are listening to them. It’s almost like we’re going back in history to here people listened to radio shows before the television was invented. Listeners love the convenience of listening while driving, working out or doing errands. Instead of reading books or watching videos, people are multitasking and using their time more wisely by listening to podcasts while they do tasks through out the day. It’s more than just a trend or money. It’s time, the most scarce and valuable commodity on this planet. I highly recommend giving it a try and seeing if it’s for you. If you are not a creator, that’s fine too. We are all needed in order to reciprocate and create value for each other. I hope this was very insightful and maybe inspire you to get started on that thing you’ve been putting off for a while.
