A Pod of Their Own, Episode 5: The Mets made mess of the catching situation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2901

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space. This week, we welcome Kellyanne Healey, Amazin’ Avenue moderator, and we begin by discussing how the Mets bungled the backup catcher situation and how the baseball might be affecting the pitchers. Next, Kellyanne talks about the book Infinite Baseball by Alva Noe and how philosophy can be applied to the game. You can look for her review and other fabulous books on her Goodreads account. We follow that up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise. Finally, we reminded everyone of the bobblehead giveaway for our awesome listeners. We have a Jacob deGrom Cy Young bobblehead for one lucky listener who leaves us a review on iTunes. Tune in at (timestamp) and keep an eye on @apodoftheirown for further details on how to enter.  UnforMETable, Episode 5: George Theodore | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1102

Welcome to UnforMETable, a new show from Amazin’ Avenue that looks back on less heralded, more obscure, but quintessential Mets players from the past This week, Rob Wolff travels back to the 1973-74 seasons to take a look at the brief but memorable Mets tenure of a gawky, gangly long shot 31st round draft pick that the Shea faithful fondly embraced as ‘The Stork.’  A true 70s character, the meditation-loving outfielder played with passion and abandon—which may in part have led to the devastating outfield collision that sidetracked his career. We’ll talk about a player who fought back to appear in the 1973 World Series and play again in 1974, but was never the same on the field—yet went on to an admirable post-baseball career, and still remains a beloved figure in the rich Mets tapestry. As always, you can listen or subscribe to this and all of our wonderful Amazin’ Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you’ve got an idea for a player to be featured on UnforMETable, let us know in the comments.  A Pod of Their Own, Episode 4: Mets continue to Mets with ailing deGrom | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3412

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space. This week, we begin the show with a discussion of how bizarrely the Mets have handled their injured ace - the more things change, the more they stay the same. And on that note, the Mets also seem uninterested in the fact that Gio Gonzalez is there for the taking. Next, we tackle the issue of MLB and Rob Manfred’s fan-unfriendly approach to media: mysterious blackout zones, severe limitations on the sharing of MiLB videos, and an increasingly-backwards approach to their own collection of highlights. This week, we have an exciting giveaway as a thank you to our awesome listeners - your very own Jacob deGrom Cy Young bobblehead (MRI machine not included)! Tune in at (timestamp) or keep an eye on @apodoftheirown for details on how to enter. Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise. Welcome to UnforMETable, a new show from Amazin’ Avenue that looks back on less heralded, more obscure, but quintessential Mets players from the past This week, Rob Wolff travels back to the 2001 season to take a look at the inexplicably productive season that a utility player claimed off of waivers the previous season had with the Mets. Hear about Desi Relaford’s impressive season with the Mets, his memorable mop-up pitching appearance that year, and his thoughts on the Phillies and their fans that just might make some Mets fans feel even more kinship with the former Met.  Amazin' Avenue Audio (The Show): Where Have You Gone, Jamie Moyer? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 4693

Welcome to Amazin’ Avenue Audio (The Show), the new/old favorite from Amazin’ Avenue editors Chris McShane and Brian Salvatore. First up this week, we discuss the current Mets' product, specifically how one team can be both so good and so bad at the same time. Then, we identify our breakout offensive stars of the young season. After a break, we discuss Jason Vargas and the (perhaps?) extinct 'crafty veteran.' Finally, we wonder why the 'three outs' Edwin Diaz situation was only just now admitted.  A Pod of Their Own, Episode 2: Please sign Dallas Keuchel | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2744

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space. This week, we begin by discussing the lack of pitching depth and how the Mets could seriously get a leg up on their competition by signing Dallas Keuchel. Next, we talk about a controversial sign that was displayed in the Wrigley Field press box that was an incredibly tone deaf move by the organization.  We introduced a new segment this week where we answered some emails, one of which suggested a lyric change in “Meet the Mets”. Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.  UnforMETable, Episode 2: David West | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1075

Welcome to UnforMETable, a new show from Amazin’ Avenue that looks back on less heralded, more obscure, but quintessential Mets players from the past This week, Rob Wolff travels back in time to the late 80s to look at the hyped prospect background and brief Met career of David West.  Relive his Met debut in a rare era of unbridled Met fan optimism until the formerly “untouchable” prospect was deemed very touchable as the 1989 team tried to replace an injured Dwight Gooden for a playoff push, landing West in Minnesota, where he would eventually earn himself the World Series ring we wish he got in 1988.
