The Los Angeles Angels lose the weekend series to the Texas Rangers, dropping 2 of 3 after starting with an incredible comeback on Friday night. Before we get into the bad of this weekend, we'll recap the way the Angels came back on Friday to walk it off in the 10th! Clutch moments from Luis Rengifo and Chad Wallach allowed Carlos Estevez to keep it tied in the 10th, and with Anthony Rendon at the plate, Zach Neto scored from third to end it 5-4! Jon will give you all the details in segment 1! Then, Saturday night, the Angels' magic ran out, as they had a disastrous 9th inning that put the game out of reach. Despite Reid Detmers only giving up 3 runs and striking out 7, he did not get any longevity in this game, throwing 94 pitches before he was pulled in the 5th. Nathan Eovaldi on the other hand pitched 8 scoreless innings for the Rangers and induced a lot of weak contact to create outs. Jon will explain the difference in their two starts and how the 9th saw the Halos implode. Plus, Sunday's game felt like the Angels were playing on "Very Difficult" mode, as they ran out Jose Suarez to start, and he was out by the 3rd inning with a shoulder injury. Despite getting to Martin Perez for 7 runs, the Halos saw this one slip away due to bad defense, pitching, and mental mistakes all over the field. The Los Angeles Angels take 2 out of 3 from the Kansas City Royals this weekend! While Halo fans were saddened to hear the news about Logan O'Hoppe and the surgery he will need, their spirits were lifted by an impressive Shohei Ohtani start on the mound as he struck out 11 Royals en route to a 2-0 victory on Friday. The Los Angeles Angels take game 1 against the New York Yankees on Tuesday night with a 5-2 win! The Halos looked like a much better team in terms of offense and defense, though Jose Suarez's third rough start in a row did not inspire confidence. Fortunately, Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Hunter Renfroe, and Anthony Rendon were able to give the Angels a lead that the bullpen didn't give up, and smart defense in the field from Zach Neto kept the game from being busted open.
