We started with our 3 kids (one "his baby" and two "her babies") and then later fostered a teenager. We both were raised in blended families, and both had been divorced before we found each other. Desperately wanting our family to work, we learned as much as we could in church, other resources, and through all of our many blended family challenges. Our mission: Strengthening blended family relationships and having more fun, giving you hope and encouragement so everyone is enjoying the journey together. Does your child's other parent villify you every chance they get? If so, this episode will help you combat the lies your child is being fed in real time. If your coparent fills your child's head with lies and toxicity, it is YOUR obligation to provide the child with references so they can have access to the truth. It is quite unfair to adultify a child, however, if your coparent is committed to doing so, it is YOUR job to provide the afflicted child with references to refute the lies. You no longer have the luxury of trying to preserve their childhood by telling them fairytales. They've already been exposed to a very real, very harsh reality. The truth is the tool they will need to fend for themselves one day. -Coach Naja P.S. This episode is abbreviated as we're having some technical difficulties. We still wanted to put it out because this message was too important not to share. Enjoy and see you next week!
After a daunting weekend on Auntie duty, Naja sits down with parenting experts Kira Dorrian and Deana Thayer of futurefocusedparenting.com. The awesome duo have created a community that focuses on raising 'future adults' as opposed to just barely making it through childhood.
