The Mental Game | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1562

- Show Notes - https://therobbyrowshow.com/pitching-mental/ In this podcast I'll be talking about the “mental game” of pitching and baseball. I open up about my past struggles within this interesting dynamic that for some reason no one really wants to talk about. The mental side of pitching is a huge component to what makes a good n consistent pitcher. But what happens when that is one area that we struggle in?Head over to the show notes to claim discounts on products mentioned in the episode!  Information Overload - Paralysis By Analysis | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1601

- Show Notes - https://therobbyrowshow.com/overload/ In this podcast I'll be talking about information overload and how sometimes seeking out a ton of information can be harmful for an athlete. This is exactly what I’ve fallen into on multiple occasions throughout my career especially when I was younger. I am not saying that being a “sponge” is bad but I just want to touch on how it can be harmful for an athlete in the early stages of his/her development.  Q&A #7 - Velo Numbers Down, When Should You Long Toss, Balancing Life + Baseball | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1919

Show Notes - https://therobbyrowshow.com/qapod7/ Register For New Content - http://eepurl.com/dtP6zv1. current senior in high school and I’m currently about a week and a half into my velo cycle. I have seen a major decrease in velocity as I am throwing 6 days a week. Is this normal during the cycle?2. how many days should I wait before long tossing again, for example if I long toss today, when should be the next day?3. I’ve drifted in and out of thoughts of just hanging up the cleats and I just don’t know what to do. I love baseball, but I’m at the point where I have to think about what’s most beneficial for me at this point in time you know, like is it worth it? What are some recommendations, or tips you have that can help me make my decision? 4. I threw my first pulldowns of the season the other day, and was expecting some decent numbers. Instead, they were worse than my velocity for last season off of a mound. Do you have an explanation for this?LINKS FOR CONSIDERATIONMy Comeback Content - https://therobbyrowshow.com/robbys-comeback/Everything I Have on Velocity - https://therobbyrowshow.com/velo/Long Toss Instruction - https://therobbyrowshow.com/longtossinstruction/Analysis Preview - https://therobbyrowshow.com/analysis1/ FOLLOW ME ON THESE PLATFORMSInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/robbyrow12/Twitter - https://twitter.com/RobbyRow_12TikTok - http://vm.tiktok.com/fa8TCY/YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCC_qVl2w7KESjVRh8ebqOWg

 Q&A #6 - Inconsistent Velocity, Losing Velocity, Cutters, + Returning From TJ | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1467

Show Notes - https://therobbyrowshow.com/qapod6/ 1. Hey Robby! I had a question about using pitches. I'm a senior pitcher in high school and recently learned how to throw a cutter. I noticed I've been getting a lot more weak contact off that than my regular 4 seam fastball. What are your thoughts on using the cutter as my primary fastball?2. Hey Robby! Love the content and tips you give about how to be a complete pitcher. I haven’t seen any videos about my dilemma so I thought I’d ask you. The issue I have is being consistent on the bump. Some outings I will feel great and sit 90-94 and other outings I will feel great and sit 95-98. In those outings I’m usually pissed about something and take it out on my catchers glove. My question is how I can be at my best more often than once in a while. Should I get myself riled up and angry? If so, how?3. I have a bone spur and two tears of my UCL. So in about three weeks I will be needing UCL reconstructive surgery(TJ).I am writing this question to you since I know that battled your lat tear for a similar amount of time that I will be out (However my goal is to be back by June 18th and become the fastest person to ever return to pitching-222 days) And I could miss that day by over 50 days and still be the 5th ever fastest to pitch in a game. However, my question is besides Physical Therapy, eventually going back to Cressey, my gym, when I can, what are some things I can do to be getting better. I will almost indefinitely need to go to a post graduate school to try and play college now, but still want to be the best that I can next season.4. Hey Robby, been following you for a while now and I love your stuff. Quick question, over the summer i was 89-92 consistently and I’ve taken time off since August. I just threw my first pen today after about 2 weeks of playing catch with a couple long toss days in between. During my pen I couldn’t even scratch 85. I know it’s because I’ve taken time off, but do you think I have completely lost that 89-92 velo? I’m looking for a professional contract in the spring and hope to god I can get it back up there. Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Q&A #5- Mobility Affects Velo, Indy Ball, Fastball Spin, and Taking Time Off From Throwing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1576

Show Notes - https://therobbyrowshow.com/qapod5/ 1. Hey I tend to see your posts a lot and see how often you talk about mobility. How much does mobility really affect your velo and how does it affect your velo?2. I was wondering what was a good entry level Indy ball league to get into? I have only played amateur ball but am looking to get my foot in the door for pro3. 4 seam velocity is way down(81-83) though his spin rate is in the 2200 range, which is solid but apparently his fast ball is only 30% efficient in staying online (readings from the rapsodo). He’s played w different grips to try to get truer back spin to now avail. You ever heard of something like this? 4. I’ve been struggling with striking out batters or even dominate them when I have a 0-2 count. What's your approach in this situation? Thanks men, appreciate your content.5. After playing spring, summer, and fall ball, I want to take some time off throwing. Do you think it’s best to completely stop for 2-3 months or keep throwing, but just extremely light and not often?6. Does it matter that much with setting up on a specific side of the rubber?

Q&A #1 - Arm Slot Dictate Movement, Injury Advice, Gym Motivation + Pulldowns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1042

1. Do you think it’s more of a challenge for guys with higher arm slots to get more dramatic arm side run of their 2 seam/change up/sinkers? 2. Recently got a tear in my labrum in the front and also two years ago I had another tear in the back even after the first tear I felt great but it seems it’s come up again with some more issues the doctor recommends a clean up surgery but another doctor doesn’t recommend it because I will lose range of motion I have until Friday to decide what I want to do I could also just do a straight up physical therapy and rehab what do you think is the best choice3. How do I persuade myself to get in the gym and get to work I have had phases that I will start and then I just quit working.4. This summer I went through a program called top velocity. Not sure if you’ve heard of it but that’s besides the point. I saw serious gains, got my fast ball up to 92, had almost no arm pain. I just transferred schools as well, the new coach is a big drive line guy. I have never worked w plyo balls before Nd I usually go to your page for tips Nd stuff but I haven’t seen much about plyo balls on your page. What is your take on plyo balls or even weighted balls in general. I don’t want to start throwing these weighted balls and get hurt or something especially after all these gains.5. I got very sick about a year ago which caused me to miss my entire junior year of college. I’m now finally healthy enough to play, lift, etc... What’s a good timeline for getting back in to throwing, long tossing, Max effort and weighted balls and is there anything else I should be doing? (I have fall ball in 2 weeks). If you could answer it would be greatly appreciated.6. I top out at 90 from the mound. I’m new to pulldowns and the first time i did them my 5 oz was 84 but my 3 oz was 96.6. Any reasons for this? i see these people throwing up ridiculous numbers on pulldowns yet mine are horrible
