The Hawks are back at sea and it was time for them to have a break, for us to follow some other characters, so in this episode and the next we will be learning about the heroic crew of The Ghost who are striving to navigate a perilous and uncharted ocean and bring their passengers safely to their distant destination. Fortunately the crew consists of expert and talented sailors with years of experience on the seaways of the world. Unfortunately the cast consists of the same bunch of goons whose antics you have grown accustomed to over the last few years...

The Hawks are ready to travel- there is just time to tie up some loose ends in Aru-sha before they board their ship and say goodbye to the comfort and safety of the western lands where they have made themselves so many friends during their adventures. Percy darts in, Bambari expresses the beauty of flight, Enigma takes a seat and Tristan gives an old friend the finger in this retaliatory episode of Crudely Drawn Swords.

Bambari has made a lot of difficult discoveries lately and now it is time for him to learn something of his place in the world, while outside the bridge of flame, the Hawks are laying metaphorical cards on the table. Tristan is a good guy really, Enigma is the shadow of a memory, Bambari is an angry teenager and Percy is just one man in this well-drained episode of Crudely Drawn Swords.

The Hawks have been keeping it underground as they investigate the blocked waterway that is leaving Aru-sha thirsty. The Hawks have seemingly exhausted every opportunity to make an easy buck by simply asking someone to give them a huge amount of money and being given a huge amount of money and it seems that, filled with anger and resentment at the unreasonableness of not having won the lottery when they didn't even buy a ticket, our heroes will have to demean themselves with that most tiresome of trivialities, a sidequest. Financing a ship sailing for months through dangerous waters turns out to be a very expensive proposition, the hawks now realise they need to get hold of a lot of money, information, money, cosmetic surgery and money. Time to hit up their contacts and persuade someone to give them a huge amount of money for no good reason. Tristan gets seated, Percy gets his fortune, Enigma gets weird and Bambari gets lampshaded in this expository episode of Crudely Drawn Swords.

Sometimes the most generous gifts backfire, whether it is the kindness of gifting an amulet to the kind of person who likes amulets, the generosity of introducing someone to long-lost family or the cordial greeting of throwing someone's useful magic item into the sea, it seems there will be some ungrateful jerk who just gets angry about it. If he loses, it spells disaster for our heroes, if he wins they have an easier journey ahead of them but how can they reconcile their actions with their wider moral standing?
