 Episode 8: Target Cafe | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:17

Goodfellows is back to talk about one of the greatest gifts of Target: the Cafe! Joey and Ben discuss the pros and cons of Target’s food options, how it helps to make shopping tolerable for kids, and the must-have menu items at can’t-beat-it prices. They also answer the age-old question: what Costco menu item do you wish was at Target Cafe? Plus: the Weekly Ad for April 7 – 13, in which Easter is still coming? We guess? Also, when is Easter? And is the Easter Bunny scary? Survey says yes. Find Goodfellows on social media: Twitter Instagram Facebook Subscribe to Goodfellows on: Apple Podcasts Google Play Stitcher Spotify RSS

 Episode 7: Mossimo | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:12

This week’s episode of Goodfellows is ripped straight from the headlines! The topic of discussion this time around is clothing brand Mossimo, designer Mossimo Giannulli’s beachwear-turned-Target line of fashion. With Giannulli in the headlines thanks to the college admission scandal he was involved with (ironically, he himself dropped out of USC) we figured, if not now, when?! After all, what better time to trace the man’s legacy from creating a business in his garage to going public and ultimately becoming a Target staple? That being said, it’s important to note that Target has publicly distanced themselves from the designer in the wake of the news. We also take a look at the Weekly Ad of March 24 – 30, which has got some good Room Essentials deals and… even cheaper Easter candy?! Here are some links to articles we mention in the show: With Losses Mounting, Mossimo Turns to Target (Leslie Earnest, Los Angeles Times, March 29, 2000) How Mossimo Went from Being Head-to-Head with Stussy to Target’s In-House Brand (By Alec Banks, The Hundreds, July 20, 2015) Find Goodfellows on social media: Twitter Instagram Facebook Subscribe to Goodfellows on: Apple Podcasts Google Play Stitcher Spotify RSS

 Episode 6: Toys | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 56:14

This week, Joey and Ben dive into probably their most frequented section of any Target, the toy department. From childhood through the present, they go through their history with these all-important, prestigious aisles, how their relationship with toys have changed over the years (and in Ben’s case, four kids later), and also ask the question: are toys meant to be opened? (Joey says, “Hard no.”) Plus, they go over the Weekly Ad for March 17 – 23, tackle follow-up comments from listeners on some of last week’s discussion topics, and enjoy lots of March Madness basketball puns from the sport-heads that write Target’s ad copy.  Episode 5: Movies, Music, and Books | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:52

This week, Goodfellows dives deep into a must-stop department for every single trip to Target. The media section at Target seems to be in a constant state of evolution, whether it’s ebbing and flowing with the popularity of physical media, bringing back vinyl, or selling related collector’s items in a world where people stream all of their entertainment. But no matter what, you can always find something to buy. Ben and Joey also go through the Weekly Ad for March March 10 – 18, featuring a lot of items that are just, like, regular price. What’s up with that? Find Goodfellows on social media: Twitter Instagram Facebook Subscribe to Goodfellows on: Apple Podcasts Google Play Stitcher Spotify RSS

 Episode 4: Room Essentials | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:19

Even though it’s a brand that’s being phased out thanks to Project 62, Ben and Joey talk about the importance of Target’s Room Essentials line in their lives. Plus: is an air purifier a symbol of your social status? Survey says YES. In addition to Room Essentials, Goodfellows talks about the Weekly Ad covering March 3 – 9 and give copywriters credit where credit is due (looking at you, Neat Fleet!).  Episode 3: Men’s Clothing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:51

This week on Goodfellows, well-known fashion experts Ben and Joey take a deep dive into one of the most robust sections inside a Target: Men’s Clothes. From Goodfellow + Co to Mossimo to graphic tees and beyond, the guys get real about their buying habits (Ben buys too many clothes, Joey buys new underwear to avoid laundry) and why Target’s a great option for the money-conscious shopper thanks to the all-important clearance rack. They also discuss the Weekly Ad for February 24 – March 2, which includes a BOGO 50% on swimwear, $10 graphic tees, and some sick patio rug steals.  Episode 2: Market Pantry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 54:17

This week, Ben and Joey dive deep into the glorious store brand known as Target’s Market Pantry—they get into their likes and dislikes, the evolution of the package design, favorite items, and items that, shockingly, aren’t quite as good as the name brand. But when push comes to shove, between pickles, fruit snacks, and pizza, you really can’t go wrong with Market Pantry. Plus, they go through the Weekly Ad for February 17 – 23, which means: EASTER CANDY! From Starburst Jellybeans to Creme Eggs, Joey’s dark secret about Easter candy stands revealed. Not to mention, the gang join the Blue Crew. Here’s the Target Corp. press release about the Market Pantry rebrand that Ben mentions in this episode: The Total Package: Check Out Market Pantry’s New Look via Target Corporate Find Goodfellows on social media: Twitter Instagram Facebook Subscribe to Goodfellows on: Apple Podcasts Google Play Stitcher Spotify RSS

Plus, they go through the Weekly Ad for the week of February 10 – February 16, which happens to include some of their favorite sales promotions and a whole lot of Our Generation/American Girl Dolls shop talk.
