What will Chris Rodriguez do in his return for Kentucky vs Ole Miss? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1818

Will we see Chris Rodriguez return Kentucky's rushing attack to its former glory? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe asks a couple of questions. Is Kentucky football legitimate? Lance breaks down whether or not the Wildcats are truly capable of making a run at an SEC Championship, the College Football Playoff, or a 10-win season. Mark Stoops and the coaching staff are the foundation of the program. But is the talent there for a historic run? How will Chris Rodriguez do in his return from suspension? Lance believes that while CRod will make his impact getting the ball, what he does for Kentucky without the ball in his hands will be more important than what he does with it. Finally, we answer some listener questions. Who will Kentucky target at QB through the transfer portal this upcoming offseason? Would Oscar Tshiebwe at EDGE or Jacob Toppin at wide receiver work better? Who will be the top five teams in college basketball after the first month of the season?  Kentucky football gets a close win over Northern Illinois, turns attention to ranked Ole Miss | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1720

The cupcakes are out of the way for Kentucky. It's now time to face Ole Miss. On today's episode of Locked on Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps No. 7 Kentucky's 31-23 win over NIU. A lot of questions stem from the poor offensive line play. Will the guys upfront ever show improvement? How much will we see Kavosiey Smoke now that Chris Rodriguez is back? Speaking of CRod, will he improve the rushing attack? How does not being able to utilize Will Levis' running ability hurt the Wildcats? Receivers Barion Brown and Tayvion Robinson both exploded in this matchup with the Huskies. UK will need the passing game firing on all cylinders heading into the Ole Miss game. The defense continues to impress at every level. The Wildcats are sixth nationally in third down defense, and they're making adjustments and shutting down opponents in the second half (well, except for the final few minutes of this one). Finally, Lance explains what a win over the Rebels this Saturday would do for Kentucky not just this season, but for the program moving forward. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball should be the NO. 1 TEAM in the Preseason AP Top 25 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1945

Move aside, North Carolina. The Preseason Basketball AP Top 25 is about a month away from being released, and the North Carolina Tar Heels are the majority favorite to be the No. 1 team to kick off the 2022-23 college basketball season. Lance takes a look at UNC, Houston, and Gonzaga and explains why the Kentucky Wildcats should be the No. 1 team in the polls over all of them. All of these programs are similar in talent, coaching, and experience, but the Wildcats overall have just a little more to offer. Kentucky football is UNRANKED in the ESPN FPI (Football Power Index), and Lance gives three reasons why that is ridiculous (even though it is purely a mathematical system - something is very, very off). Finally, Mark Stoops and the Wildcats take on Northern Illinois tomorrow. We preview the matchup with the Huskies. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky football and Will Levis have a legitimate path to the College Football Playoff | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2304

Kentucky football's path to the playoff may be easier than you thought. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe breaks down the seven things that need to happen or would aid Mark Stoops and the Wildcats in earning a College Football Playoff berth. Does Kentucky need to win the SEC Championship to make it? Who are the contenders that UK needs to battle past? Which specific teams or conferences need to have losses or need to just downright collapse in order to solidify two SEC berths? The SEC East is an interesting division with a lot of up and coming programs. Lance power ranks the division and breaks down where every team currently stands after two weeks. Georgia is on top, Kentucky is second, but where does the rest of the division fall? Finally, Lance takes a look at some of your comments from Kentucky's victory over the Florida Gators.  Kentucky football defeats the Florida Gators in the Swamp: The Wildcats are LEGIT | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1728

Anthony Richardson who? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps Kentucky football's 26-16 win over the Florida Gators. Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and his staff did a phenomenal job preparing for this game, and it showed in the tape... Will Levis did just enough to not lose the game, the offensive line took major strides forward after a subpar showing in the season opener, and the defense (aided by stellar play from Keidron Smith and Carrington Valentine) completely shut down Anthony Richardson. Oh, and freshman receiver Dane Key is a beast, too. What does the win mean for the Wildcats? What should the vibe be moving forward? Lance gives his thoughts. Kentucky is now ranked No. 9 in the AP Poll, their highest ranking of the Mark Stoops era, and the highest ranking for the program since 2007. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky football's running back depth is suddenly VERY thin, can the Wildcats operate one-dimensional vs Florida? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1520

The Wildcats' already thin running back room just got much thinner. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the loss of Ramon Jefferson and JuTahn McClain to injury. Kentucky football struggled to establish the ground game against Miami Ohio, and will likely continue to struggle this Saturday against the Florida Gators. Can Kentucky bring a one-dimensional offense into Gainesville and beat Florida? Lance breaks down three questions that could potentially answer that. A listener of the show brought up an interesting point about the Kentucky defensive line. The Wildcats can afford to be bad on one side of the trenches, but not both. Lance explains what UK needs to do, and why the offensive line struggles may be less important than being able to generate pressure defensively. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky vs Miami recap and analysis: Trench play is a major concern heading into Florida | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1977

The Kentucky Wildcats won... just not in the way many of us expected. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps Kentucky football's 37-13 win over the Miami Redhawks. Kentucky quarterback Will Levis threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns, but continues to leave games with that one turnover... will that haunt the Wildcats in their week two matchup against the Florida Gators? The Wildcats were held to just 50 yards rushing... which is extremely shocking. Is the offensive line play not up to par this season, or is that an overreaction? What will Mark Stoops & Co. do to fix it? Finally, Lance gives his early thoughts on Kentucky vs Florida. How does UK contain Florida QB Anthony Richardson? Does the offensive line hold up? How do the Wildcats handle the Swamp? What's the early lean from Vegas? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster.  Kentucky Wildcat Jacob Toppin will be a first-round pick IF he does this | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1679

Fill in the blank: Jacob Toppin will be a first-round pick IF _. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe takes a look at Kentucky basketball player Jacob Toppin, and reviews some feedback from the audience. What do you guys think will make Jacob Toppin a first-round pick? Better three point shooting? Stronger defense? Lance breaks down your responses and gives his own. Kentucky football has a very young receiving core this season. Virginia Tech Transfer Tayvion Robinson will likely be the No. 1 receiver in the room, but who could be second? Dawe gives his thoughts on freshmen receivers Dane Key and Barion Brown, and whether or not one of them could take that No. 2 spot. ESPN's college football bowl projections are out. Kentucky is currently slated to play in the Citrus Bowl once again. Is this a good thing for Mark Stoops and the Wildcats? Lance gives his thoughts. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball looks REALLY GOOD in the Bahamas, takes down Dominican Republic 108-56 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2067

Kentucky basketball looks like a National Title contender after one game in the Bahamas. Yes I am overreacting. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe breaks down Kentucky's 108-56 win over the Dominican Republic in the Bahamas. John Calipari wasn't coaching, but it didn't matter. The Wildcats rolled. UK had every newcomer show out in some way. Daimion Collins looked like a pro. He was getting to his spots and playing solid defense. Adou Thiero was way more comfortable than expected. Oscar Tshiebwe quietly led the team in scoring. Cason Wallace was phenomenal on both ends. Despite losing a couple of solid pieces, UK is just as long and as athletic as they were a season ago. Kentucky did a lot of great things in transition. Offensively, this was one of the most efficient teams in the country last season, and it looks like the Wildcats are going to have another really solid chance at being one of KenPom's top offenses once again.  What do we need to see out of Kentucky basketball's trip to the Bahamas? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2237

Kentucky basketball is making a trip down to the Bahamas for four games. What do we need to see out of the Wildcats? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe takes a look at what some listeners want to see out of John Calipari and the Wildcats during their contests in the Bahamas. CJ Fredrick is back, healthy, and playing well in practice. Fans want to see Fredrick return to the form he had during his time at Iowa. Get him the basketball and let him shoot. Jacob Toppin has also been a topic of conversation among fans. is Toppin ready to breakout for the Wildcats? Lance sets parameters on what qualifies as a successful trip for Toppin. Antonio Reeves has been drawing attention in practice as not just a scorer, but as a defender and a distributor. Lance explains the potential star Reeves could blossom into, and what parts of his game he still has to round out before realizing his potential. Lance sits down with Sports Illustrated's director of basketball recruiting Jason Jordan to talk about some of Kentucky's 2023 prospects. DJ Wagner's recruitment has been relatively quiet. Where does Kentucky stand with him? Is Louisville pushing hard? Aaron Bradshaw is still projected to commit to UK - but could four-star center Ugonna Kingsley's commitment deter Bradshaw from wanting to come play for the Wildcats? Finally, Jason shares his thoughts on Kentucky's 2023 class as a whole. Could John Calipari and Kentucky vie for the No. 1 overall class despite how well Duke is recruiting?
