Kentucky basketball is on a roll! Can the Wildcats capitalize down the stretch? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1716

Kentucky basketball is starting to build momentum. But can John Calipari and the Wildcats capitalize down the stretch? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps the Kentucky Wildcats win over the Texas A&M Aggies. The rotation is starting to move around, and it's produced great results - including UK's third straight win. Oscar Tshiebwe didn't play well against Texas A&M basketball, but Jacob Toppin and Antonio Reeves stepped up in his place. Should CJ Fredrick be starting over Reeves? What would happen if Kentucky swapped the two in the rotation? An updated CBS Sports bracketology is out, and Kentucky is now a No. 10 seed. Can the Wildcats hold on? How much higher could they go?  Kentucky basketball vs Texas A&M: A crucial game for John Calipari's Wildcats | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1438

This could be one of the more pivotal games of the season for John Calipari and Kentucky basketball. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe previews Kentucky vs Texas A&M. The Wildcats need some quality wins, and a victory over the Aggies - who are undefeated in SEC basketball play - would be huge. Oscar Tshiebwe is coming off of a 37-point performance against Georgia. He should, in theory, have another good outing again - and the Wildcats offense should play through him. Lance dives into the importance of pacing in this matchup, and gives his thoughts on A&M's play style under Buzz Williams. The free throw line should be frequently visited in this one. Finally, Lance asks the audience about where they think Kentucky basketball will wind up seeded in the NCAA Tournament. That is, if the Kentucky Wildcats get there...  Kentucky basketball is starting to build momentum again after win over Georgia | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1790

Kentucky basketball and John Calipari are starting to build momentum again following a hard fought win over the Georgia Bulldogs. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps the Kentucky Wildcats 85-71 win over Mike White and the Bulldogs, led by 37 points from Oscar Tshiebwe. Lance notes some interesting stats about the contest, and how it may be pointing to signs of Kentucky gaining traction here midway through the season. Cason Wallace scored 17 points as the primary starting point guard. Should Sahvir Wheeler be relegated to the bench? How should Kentucky handle their lineup rotation with games against Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Kansas coming up? It's a crucial stretch here for the Wildcats if they want to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball vs Tennessee Volunteers preview: What will it take for John Calipari to beat the Vols? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2391

Kentucky basketball comes into Thompson-Boling Arena reeling following a brutal loss to South Carolina. What will it take for John Calipari to beat the Tennessee Volunteers? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe is joined by Eric Cain of the Locked On Vols podcast to discuss the matchup - why are the Kentucky Wildcats struggling? How is Oscar Tshiebwe performing despite the team struggles? What does Kentucky need to do in order to have a chance? The guys also talk about Tennessee and their stout defense that has carried them this season. Rick Barnes' squad may have one of the most well-balanced rotations in the nation, and its largely due in part to a deep bench. Lance and Eric speculate over the Vols inconsistent offense and discuss whether or not UK can catch UT sleeping at the right time. Finally, the two talk about Devin Leary, the new quarterback for Kentucky football. How could he impact the Wildcats' offense next season? How does Tennessee football continue to build with Joe Milton now officially at the helm? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  IF he were to leave, who could replace John Calipari for Kentucky basketball? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1860

If John Calipari were to leave the Kentucky Wildcats, who would replace him? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Kentucky basketball's John Calipari and what the Wildcats would do if he were to leave or be fired. There are several names that have been thrown out for a move that hasn't happened (and likely won't), but Dawe goes over them anyway: Nate Oats, Jay Wright, Scott Drew, Rick Pitino, Eric Mussleman are just some of the coaches that fans have said could replace Cal. Dawe also takes a look into some listener questions. How likely is it that Calipari leaves for Texas basketball? Should Kentucky pursue Auburn's Bruce Pearl? Where do we go after the "fire Cal" narrative goes away? If we had to change the rotation and redistribute minutes, who would get more/less and why? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  John Calipari has done nothing to win over the fanbase, and now he could be leaving | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1765

Outside of next year's recruiting class, John Calipari has done nothing to win over the Kentucky basketball fanbase, and now he could be leaving for Texas. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe goes over the ways the Kentucky Wildcats have fallen short of expectations this season, and why it all points back to Calipari. The chemistry isn't there on the court. The players seem like they've given up, and Oscar Tshiebwe is begging for the team to show some fight. The scheme hasn't changed, and it's making Coach Cal look bad when he has faced up against coaches running more modern things - Nate Oats at Alabama, Dennis Gates at Missouri, etc. The matchup between Kentucky vs South Carolina was arguably the most embarrassing loss of the season last night for the Wildcats. There are no answers. GG Jackson and Meechie Johnson got hot early and never looked back. Even when things got close late, Kentucky proved once again that they don't possess a clutch player that can close out a game. Finally, to turn things into a positive direction, Lance takes a look at next year's roster (if nothing changes). Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner and Reed Sheppard could form the most electric backcourt in the SEC next season. Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw and Ugonna Onyenso should also be explosive. If UK can find a transfer PF, this could be a legitimate roster next season. If it takes John Calipari all of the five-star talent in the world to win a title, he's going to have a great shot next year. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  John Calipari has been contacted by Texas basketball... will he consider leaving? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1594

Kentucky basketball's John Calipari has been contacted by the Texas Longhorns. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Texas basketball's interest in hiring Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari. There are layers to this report from Travis Branham, ones we may never fully know or understand. Does Cal want to leave Kentucky? Can Texas give him an offer he'd take? What would happen to Kentucky basketball recruiting? Lance weighs in from both sides of the Coach Cal argument. Kentucky basketball was blown out by Alabama last weekend. Things seem to quickly be dismantling for a team that may be seeing its NCAA Tournament hopes slowly creeping away from them. Kentucky football wide receiver Tayvion Robinson is returning for Liam Coen and Mark Stoops. This is big for new QB Devin Leary and the Wildcats' receiving core.  Is Texas basketball going after Kentucky’s John Calipari? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1429

Could John Calipari be leaving Kentucky basketball for the Texas Longhorns? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the Texas basketball head coaching position opening after Chris Beard was fired by the university. According to several outlets - ESPN, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated - the Kentucky Wildcats' John Calipari could be a candidate for the job. Is this remotely close to possible? What would the Wildcats have to do in order to disprove these longshot suggestions? Kentucky basketball plays the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend in what could be a massively pivotal game for the SEC. Star freshman Brandon Miller is playing excellently for Nate Oats' squad, but Lance believes that Kentucky can go into Tuscaloosa and get the win - with some help from Oscar Tsheibwe and Jacob Toppin, of course.  Should Kentucky basketball miss Bryce Hopkins? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 2086

Former Kentucky basketball player Bryce Hopkins is dominating at his new school, the Providence Friars. Should Kentucky Wildcats fans miss Hopkins? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses why he believes Hopkins leaving to play for Providence basketball is okay, considering what he would have done in John Calipari's system. Dawe clarifies on the comments he made on yesterday's show about Alabama basketball coach Nate Oats. There's no reason Kentucky should be considering moving on from John Calipari, and right now Oats isn't the coach the Wildcats would get - but he does fit the mold of who they would seek. Lance is also joined by Isaac Shade of the Locked On College Basketball Podcast to talk about Kentucky basketball's fanbase and the short and longterm frustrations with John Calipari. IF the Wildcats were to move on soon (which, for the record, isn't happening), are there some names out there that the fanbase may be excited about taking over? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball picks up close win over LSU, showing signs of life again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1824

Kentucky basketball and John Calipari just picked up a solid win over the LSU Tigers. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps the Kentucky Wildcats 74-71 win over LSU basketball. It was a complete team effort - well, from the seven players that played. Coach Cal ran a short rotation and the starters shined - Jacob Toppin had another phenomenal night, Oscar Tshiebwe was dominant as usual, Sahvir Wheeler played point masterfully, and Cason Wallace showed he could hit a shot in the clutch. Could Kentucky be turning things around? Lance is also joined by Isaac Shade of the Locked On College Basketball Podcast to talk about Kentucky basketball's fanbase and the short and longterm frustrations with John Calipari.  This ONE player could change Kentucky basketball's entire season | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1619

If Kentucky basketball could get this one player to perform better, the season could start to change for the better. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Jacob Toppin and what he could do for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats if he were to improve his game. Kentucky basketball has a tough four-game stretch coming up, with home games vs the LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks, along with road trips to face Alabama Crimson Tide and the Tennessee Volunteers. Lance explains why this might be the most pivotal four-game stretch of the season. Finally, Dawe begins to answer the question - how good ARE the LSU Tigers? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball needs to capitalize on emphatic win over underwhelming Louisville | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1729

Kentucky basketball picked up a much needed win over Louisville in Rupp Arena. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps Kentucky's win over Louisville. John Calipari has started to have a more positive attitude according to Oscar Tsheibwe, and the team responded in this one. Jacob Toppin had a phenomenal game (much needed) and the Wildcats' offense showed up big time. The win itself may not have much substance, but how important is building some confidence for Kentucky right now? Lance looks at the difficult upcoming four game stretch.  Kentucky football is shut out in Music City Bowl... What's next? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1354

Well, the Kentucky Wildcats' 2022 season comes to an end in underwhelming fashion. Kentucky football lost to Iowa 21-0 in the Music City Bowl. It was not a fun game for Mark Stoops & Co. Lance Dawe shares his thoughts on the loss, the season, the expectations, and what the Wildcats could do with Liam Coen and Devin Leary next year. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!  Kentucky basketball is going to blow Louisville off the map... or, at least they should | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1528

Kentucky basketball and John Calipari need this win more than I need air. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe previews the Kentucky vs Louisville basketball matchup. Dawe takes a look at what the Louisville Cardinals do poorly, as well as what they do poorly. That's not a typo, this team sucks. Kenny Payne is struggling to put it all together for Louisville basketball this year, and if Kentucky finds a way to blow this one, there's no telling what the fanbase will do. They need a breather. Badly. Oscar Tsheibwe should dominate. Cason Wallace, Sahvir Wheeler, Antonio Reeves, they should all go off. How much should UK win by in order to make the fans feel better? Only time will tell. Oh, and Lance also gives another brief preview of the Music City Bowl between Kentucky and Iowa. There are no quarterbacks to speak of - but there may be a tight end.
