Episode #033 - Please welcome Chief of the Enterprise Strategy Division, Robin Champ. Before joining the Secret Service, Ms. Champ was the Chief of the Global Futures Office at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). She developed a comprehensive methodology (to include stakeholder interviews, scenario-based planning, SWOT analysis, policy analysis, and crowdsourcing) to facilitate the development of the Agency’s Strategic Plan. She spearheaded the introduction of Scenario-Based Planning in the organization and continues to be a frequent speaker on the subject. Ms. Champ also led the Project on Advanced Systems and Concepts for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD), addressing key national security and CWMD issues through strategic studies and dialogues. Ms. Champ co-leads the Federal Foresight Community of Interest (FFCoI.org). She also is a guest lecturer on foresight at George Washington University’s “Mastering Strategy for the Public Sector” course. In addition to a commendation from the Vice President of the United States, and her many awards for outstanding performance, Ms. Champ is a recipient of the DTRA Director’s Distinguished Civilian Service Medal. Ep. #032 - Please welcome Deputy Chief Catrina Bonus; Catrina has served with the Secret Service for close to 25 years.  She began her career as an officer assigned to the White House Branch and throughout her career, she has risen steadily through the ranks with leadership assignments at all branches of the Uniformed Division including the White House, Foreign Missions, Naval Observatory, Special Operations – Magnetometer Operations Office, Office of the Chief, and the James J. Rowley Training Center (JJRTC). On August 5, 2018, Catrina was appointed to the rank of Deputy Chief; the Uniformed Division’s first female Deputy Chief. Her first assignment as Deputy Chief was at the White House, the largest branch within the Uniformed Division.  Her current assignment is at the James J. AD Cheatle oversees a special projects team that responds to operational, technical, and administrative issues at all levels of the organization; and directs staffing and logistical operations for the directorate and ten operational divisions to ensure divisions and events are properly resourced. Also, she works with the Technical Security Division to research, develop, and deploy technologies that reduce risks to protectees, protected facilities, and protected events. Prior to serving as Assistant Director, she served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Office, providing oversight for all mission-related investigations, protective intelligence, and protective visits in the state of Georgia. Ms. Cheatle was appointed to the Senior Executive Service (SES) in February 2016 as the Special Agent in Charge of the James J. Rowley Training Center (RTC). She later served as the Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Training. Chaplain Arbeen joined the USSS in 2011 as a Contract Specialist in the Procurement Division. In 2012, he transferred to the Technical Security Division as the Program Control and Integration Officer. While working for TSD, Chaplain Arbeen was preparing to serve as a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church, being ordained in February 2018. Chaplain Arbeen, under the direction of Ms. Carolyn McMillon, helped develop the Chaplain Program. The Program currently consists of 144 local, volunteer, Chaplains throughout the United States that serve our Special Agents, Uniform Division Officers, Technical Law Enforcement Officers, and Administrative, Professional, and Technical personnel, and their families, during times of personal and professional need, National Special Security Events, and during catastrophic events. Volunteer Chaplains provide supportive care for employees and their immediate family members in times of need. Chaplains may help to provide for the spiritual, personal, and social needs of the individual in support of the goals and objectives of the Chaplain Program, including offering spiritual insight and perspectives on personal and professional struggles associated with the risks implicit in the law enforcement culture. Lt. Ruano was promoted to Sergeant in 2014 and then assigned to the White House Branch. Then she was selected as a classroom instructor at the James J. Episode #028 - Please welcome two-time guest, Investigative Analyst Ryan Heethius of the Paris Field Office who speaks on his roles and responsibilities as a foreign field office IA for the Secret Service. He also speaks on an investigation he took part in back in the states called Champagne Charlie. IA Ryan Heethius is under the Investigative Support Division (ISD) for the Office of Investigations. Ryan has worked on many different cases to include, including counterfeit operations, money laundering, homicide, and cybercrime. The role of an Investigative Analysts are multi-faceted, consisting of broad-based criminological research, link analysis, intelligence data gathering, performing complex statistical analysis and trend forecasting for criminal and protective intelligence, develops curricula for and provides high-quality training for investigators, researchers, and support staff. IAs also travel frequently to support field offices and task forces, often assisting with search warrants and asset forfeiture. The work of IAs involves extensive knowledge of criminological theories, research methodologies, and the development and use of investigative and intelligence systems and analysis of investigative cases such as; financial crimes, access device fraud, telecom fraud, high- tech crimes, counterfeit U.S. currency and obligations, and protective intelligence. Episode #023 – Please welcome Uniformed Division Chief Tom Sullivan to the first episode of season 3! Sworn in as a Federal Police Officer with the Secret Service Uniformed Division in January 1988; he has over 29 years of diverse public safety experience, including police officer and Fire; Rescue Emergency positions in the US Air Force. In January 2004, he made the rank of Captain and was assigned to the White House Branch where he served as the day work Watch Commander. In 2007, he achieved the rank of Inspector and remained assigned to the White House Branch where he served as the Deputy Branch Commander for all administrative and operational matters. In 2011, he became the Deputy Chief and assigned to the White House Branch. In March of 2018, he was sworn in as the 25th Chief of the Secret Service Uniformed Division. In this position, he leads more than 1600 officers and officials on a daily basis and is responsible for the planning and direction of the Uniformed Division. Episode #022 - Please welcome Secret Service Sgt.-Technician Travas Holland and Officer-Technician Adam Murray. Sgt.-Tech Travas Holland served 17years with the Secret Service Uniform Division in December. He started out at the White House Branch and was a part of the surveillance team, as a Trek Officer. After about 2.5 years at the White House, he applied for a position on the Counter Sniper Team where he has remained for the past 14 years. Officer-Technician Murray has with the USSS since May of 2012. He joined the Foreign Missions Branch for 2 years after graduating from training. Later, after a brief assignment to the White House Branch, he joined the Counter Sniper Team in 2014. Episode #021 Please welcome Secret Service Officer-Technician Alta Lauren Gunawan, she has been with the United States Secret Service for 3 years. Her career has been at the White House Branch working on the patrol unit which consists of around the clock surveillance and protection of the White House zone. In March of 2019 she was one of 6 people selected to participate in the training for an elite unit called the Motorcade Support Unit (MSU).
