Music Business ghost drumming. Being a ghost in the machine. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1436

Music business ghost drumming occurred very often as well as a number of other session players that were paid to track parts, be silent and have another name credited on a song or album. Music Business ghost drumming. Being a ghost in the machine is the title of The Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK Episode 112 hosted by Brand Messaging Strategist Loren Weisman who was a former ghost drummer at one time. On a completely different level, these ghost players not only served to help the recording, but they also served to help the messaging, the brand and the optics of the band or artist. It took humility and it took honor. It is hard to have a whole bunch of people asking you to prove your work., For others, friends would play the guessing game. I would just stick with the, I can not confirm or deny and leave left it at that. There was also the nasty side of it. Walking in to a toxic zone where someone had been told they were not going to play on the track or album. Then you are the one showing up to do the work and while the producer, engineer and label people are happy to see you, there was some pretty raw feelings coming from the band. In most cases for most session artists, it as never about trying to take the gig away. It was a one time job. Many session players and ghost players had that duality of being creative but also clearly understanding the music business is a business. Not being credited on the album did not mean you were not getting credit and building your resume. The producers, studios, and labels were quick to learn about and keep names on files of those that could handle the work and keep their mouths shut. It was a challenge and yet at the same time, some of the best times of my career. In this podcast, I dig into the concepts of music business ghost drumming, but also how many musicians served as a ghost in the machine. I also try to dispel some of the negative connotations and how in some ways, the ghost session players can relate well to messaging and the optics of today.  Authoring an authentic book to spotlight your knowledge | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1953

It is very easy to write a book and very easy to publish a book these days. It is also very easy to get it up on Amazon. However, it is not as easy to write a good book and it is not as easy to write an authentic and authoritative book. Authoring an authentic book to spotlight your knowledge is the title of The Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK Episode 111 hosted by Brand Messaging Strategist Loren Weisman. If you are looking to write a book rooted in the authenticity and authority to spotlight what you know, consider some of these thoughts and ideas in this podcast. This podcast is not focused on discouraging anyone from writing a book. If you have a book in you that represents your authenticity, your authority and your knowledge, by all means, write that book. But, if you are trying to write a book for only hype, promotional and marketing reasons, writing a book, might not be for you. Remember, Weisman says..“Publishing a book does not make you an authority or an expert. Authorship doesn’t not equal authority.” "Not everyone has a book in them." This stands true for some that have put out books that were disguised and hyped as professional, helpful, authentic and authoritative, but they were far from it. So many books on the market in recent days are often times created to spotlight someones services and abilities. Some of the issues that arise though is that they use other peoples quotes, other peoples formats and other peoples messaging twisted enough to not get in trouble and present a false sense of authority. If you are looking to write a book today and in the climate of these dime store, snake oil style books that come out with very large spacing, very large fonts and a bulk of the content coming from someone else, it is a good idea to consider how you structure, outline and mobilize your book, the content, and the brand messaging for it. When you take that extra time and effort to mobilize the methodology, messaging, management and motion of your book, you offer a voice and a tone that can stand out in a sea of oversaturated hype. Take those extra steps to brand your book from your authority over trying to write a book to be seen as an authority. "It is very easy to write a book and very easy to publish a book these days. It is also very easy to get it up on Amazon. However, it is not as easy to write a good book and It is not as easy to write an authentic and authoritative book" says Weisman Episode 111 of the Wait What Really OK Podcast is called Authoring an authentic book to spotlight your knowledge. This Brand Messaging Podcast is available on iHeartRadio, Spreaker, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Castbox, Podbean, Podcast Addict, Listen App, Podchaser, Stitcher, Anchor, TuneIn, Chartable, Hubhopper and other Podcast Distributors.************************************************The Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK is Part Radio Show, Part Podcast, Part Strategy & Part Comic Relief that takes apart the misconceptions, misunderstandings and mistakes of online branding, messaging and optics by delivering up to date, easy to understand information that can be applied to your messaging and brand messaging strategy, regardless of your business. ************************************************Host, Loren Weisman is a Brand Messaging Strategist and Contributor for the Fish Stewarding Group which is Stewarding Strategic Solutions.  Stewarding strategic solutions in opinionated conversations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1525

Conversations and debates where both people are as as passionate and prepared to share their views as they are to listen and hear some one with differing views and information, can create greater change than just screaming, insulting and attacking. Stewarding strategic solutions in opinionated conversations is the title of The Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK Episode 110 hosted by Brand Messaging Strategist Loren Weisman. Are you ready to hear another side as much as you want your side to be heard? Can you steward a conversation strategically and effectively to get your point, your views, your opinions and the facts you can prove across to another? At the same time, are you ready to listen. From business to protests to relationships and beyond, many are screaming what they want, what they need and what they require, yet in not allowing for conversations to be shared with two way communication. Then in adding the attacks, the insults, and the one sided elements, it is not surprising that many of these conversations are not creating the change. If we can move to listening as much as we speak and taking into consideration that it might not be the most effective approach to insult and belittle the same people you are asking for help from, conversations can be that much more impactful. "As challenging as it can be from businesses to relationships to anything else, if we ground ourselves in the respect to hear the other side, differentiate our opinion from proven and vetted facts, while remove the insulting and attacking elements, we can create impactful conversations of change."Episode 110 of the Wait What Really OK Podcast is called Stewarding strategic solutions in opinionated conversations. Online Reputation Management for your Brand Messaging Optics. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1332

Are you staying on top of the temperature and the optics of the perceptions of your tone, messaging and content online? Are you keeping in mind that what might feel good in a moment could create problems in the future?Online Reputation Management for your Brand Messaging Optics is the title of The Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK Episode 109 hosted by Brand Messaging Strategist Loren Weisman. Loren digs in to a series of thoughts to consider and keep in mind when adding content and when commenting online. We are long gone from the days of a private SOS Message in a bottle like The Police Song lyrics. "I'll send an SOS to the world, I hope that someone gets my message in a bottle." These days, our messages and our messaging is far from private and even when we think we are putting something out in the moment, it could be seen by thousands, years later as well as become heavily scrutinized. In this episode, Loren also discusses a brief checklist of ideas to maintain the past, the present and the future of your message and your messaging online. We are living in a time when both incorrect perceptions of your messaging online can turn into major issues for your business and reputation. "We are in a period where comments, posts, shares and even likes can be taken way out of context and create way more issues than they should for businesses and reputations. It is not about managing your reputation online to please everybody, but taking the right steps to reinforce and manage your online reputation can make all the difference for today, tomorrow, next week, next month and next year." A balance in understanding can create the shifts to reduce stress, increase learning and bring out the best in everyone. Even in the quarantine, she shares an empathetic view with parents and wants them to know they are doing just fine. Dayna states "even though so many are feeling overwhelmed, parents are doing a good enough job with schooling right now. They are more than enough! Most parents are unaware that it is not distance learning. This is emergency schooling which is an entirely different animal that we've never seen before."  The numbers mindset that might be hurting your podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1360

The numbers mindset that might be hurting your podcast is the title ofThe Brand Messaging Podcast Wait What Really OK Episode 101 hosted by Brand Messaging Strategist Loren Weisman. Are you focusing on numbers that only help the ego and end up hurting your authority and your show? The perception and this view that numbers are the answer is showing it self to hurt the authentic numbers dramatically with true audience engagement these days. This focus that has been fed from the marketing gurus and ad hype types is starting to annoy those fans that want to engage, but at the same time want to feel engaged. When podcasters and content creators push this forced and overly dominating messaging of like, share, follow, review, buy and follow, it can feel disrespectful to those that already have. Mixing this with a focus of asking for more numbers of listens, can completely turn off an audience. Take in to consideration that your it is not your audiences job to market you and that as you pressure in shows, in content and keep a focus on wanting more than that audience, you may end up turning more of that audience away. A more humble approach with a focus on the content, on the distribution of the content and the way your content or podcast invites people to it will help at this time to differentiate yourself as well as well in to the future.
