 #512 Intuition, Psychic Ability & Mediumship - Sheila Vijeyarasa | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:06:45

Sheila Vijeyarasa has mastered the art of blending two diametrically opposite careers: she is a corporate leader as well as a spiritual teacher and mentor, medium and psychic reader. She holds an MBA and has fifteen years of experience in publishing and media, preceded by a foundation of eight years of experience in chartered accounting and banking. She was also the CFO of a global publishing company. Sheila is the founder of Empowering Intuition. Her natural mediumistic and psychic abilities were passed down through multiple generations. This was a weird, interesting and fun episode with a really nice person. I'm not too sure about the whole 'talking to the dead' thing (maybe I'm scared?) but I totally enjoyed our chat.

Previously she was editor of Cosmopolitan Australia, host of Masterchef Australia and founder of the largest wellness website in Australia, IQuitSugar.com. In 2018, Sarah closed the business and gave all the money to charity. Sarah lives minimally, rides a hand-built bike and is known for traveling the world for eight years with one bag. This was another great chat with yet another inspiring woman. Enjoy.

Mark LeBusque from the Simply Practically Human Podcast has been kind enough to tolerate me on his show for a six-week series which we're recording each Saturday morning at coffee o'clock. Every session is a casual, thoughtful and totally unscripted exploration into the human condition. Enjoy. The Simply Practically Human Podcast

 #509 Internet Use & Abuse - Kavya Raj | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:06:05

Kavya Raj is a researcher, curious mind, Psychology graduate and periodically-exhausted student on the home straight of her PhD journey in Cognitive Psychology. Like someone else we know, Kavya is part of BrainPark at Monash University. Her research is exploring the way internet use influences how students think, feel, behave and self-manage around the unavoidable and ever-expanding electronic goliath that is, the internet. Enjoy. @kavya__r

 #506 The Smartest Idiot (Part 2) - Bobby Cappuccio | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:47

Bobby Cappuccio is a popular and inspirational TYP regular but this episode is different to our normal chats. Sure, we talk (a little) about all the normal do-think-be better (personal development) stuff but not long into this unscripted (as always) chat, Bobby began to go deep into some of his personal journey. It's not always easy listening but ultimately, his story is one of resilience and survival that is simultaneously uplifting, confronting and inspiring. Among other things we talk about (1) growing up in a violent house devoid of love and care (2) being born with a severe facial deformity (3) his multiple reconstructive surgeries (4) looking for love in the wrong places (5) being given up for adoption (6) using drugs and alcohol from the age of ten (7) navigating life with Tourette's, ongoing rejection and massive insecurity (8) being medicated to the point of social dysfunction (9) being pigeon-holed as an idiot and (10) how he saved himself through education, curiosity, work ethic and compassion for others. This 'idiot' is one the smartest, most evolved and loving people I know.

#504 From Bank Robber to Professor of Neuroscience - Moran Cerf | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:02

This was instantly one of my favourite TYP chats. Ever. Even in the middle of it, I didn't want it to end. After five hundred plus episodes, it's straight into my all-time top 5. Moran Cerf is one of the most fascinating, interesting and brilliant people I've ever interviewed. He is a professor in both Business and Neuroscience, a researcher, author, speaker and something of a scientific adventurer. Here's some of what we spoke about... (1) His time robbing banks (2) Working on Hollywood movies and TV shows as a science consultant (Limitless, Bull) (3) Defining 'the mind' (4). Dream research, including the goal of learning while we sleep (5) His time as a hacker (6) How and why placebos work (7) The impossibility of 'being' objective (8) Nootropics (cognitive enhancers) and (9) his research where he puts wires (of sorts) into people's brains (literally) while they are awake to better understand brain function. All that and lots more. FYI, Moran talks quickly and has quite a strong Israeli accent, so you may need to listen closely at times. Enjoy.

 #498 Human Stuff | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:52:15

Mark LeBusque from the Simply Practically Human Podcast has been kind enough to tolerate me on his show for a six-week series that we're recording each Saturday morning at coffee o'clock. This was instalment one and because I recorded it eight days ago (as I write this), I have no idea what it's about. Probably stuff about humans, behaviour, thinking, transformation and growth. There's a shock. Pretty sure it's good though. Enjoy. The Simply Practically Human Podcast
