A Little Más Podcast

Hello Tuesday! This week we start off with discussing the growing business of "rented parents/significant others" for those life moments when you need a stand-in (Think of the movie "The Wedding Date"). Our main topic is all about loving ourselves and what we've done to help see ourselves as something other than terrible. All of us have made mistakes and at times think back on the things that we're not proud of. Many of us have faced moments in life where we're not happy where we're at either emotionally or situationally. How do we love ourselves in those moments or when we're struggling with viewing ourselves negatively? Tune in as we delve deeper into the importance of self-love.

Love is in the air this month & we’re celebrating by getting “A Little Más” personal with you. This week we have an exciting announcement! Also, in honor of V-Day, we’ve invited several special guests (our husbands, brother, & sister in love) to help us play a few rounds of “The Newlywed Game” (you won’t be disappointed). Join us as we reminisce about when we began dating our spouses and discuss marriage (the good & the bad), how we deal with conflict, and share how we keep the love alive in our marriages.

This week’s episode is all about SELF CARE and one of the things we like to do to unwind is play games (the crazier & sillier the better). Tune in this week to listen in as we play a few rounds of “Never Have I Ever” & “This or That”. We also dish about some of our favorite ways to practice self-care and recharge after having a tough day or week.

This week we’re dishing about some of the network shows we’re currently loving and shamelessly binge watching (everything from The Bachelor to This is Us & The Four). We also share our thoughts on the hot topic of vaccinations (should we insist family & friends get a flu shot before seeing & holding our babies?) and discuss our main topic: No more taco Tuesdays? Healthy me here I come! Join us as we share our reasons for wanting to start off the year healthy, our past successes/failures pertaining to weight loss and healthy living, and Celeste’s recent journey as a vegan. What are you doing to take care of your body & what has helped you to be successful?

We’ve entered tax season and that means this is the time some of us start to receive bogus calls from people claiming that we owe them money. Say what?! Not today! Not my hard earned money! Join us as we share tips on how to protect yourself against these kinds of scams. We also discuss other random (and fun topics) like songs we’ve been singing wrong (i.e. MJ’s smooth criminal, Gwen Stefani’s Sweet Escape, Missy Elliott’s work it, etc.) and our main topic: Misconceptions about adulting. Let’s just say that when we were little girls, we totally thought that being an adult would be a piece of cake & that we’d have EVERYTHING figured out…Ha! It’s officially 2018 and we’re getting personal with you familia. Join us as we engage in a few rounds of “would you rather” (let’s just say our responses are as crazy as the ‘would you rather’ questions we’re responding to). We also discuss our thoughts on how this new year is working out for us, dish some deets on who we are, and offer random tidbits about ourselves and our childhood.

With the countdown to Christmas behind us, we now prepare for all things New Year. Join us this week as we discuss how we dealt with the craziness of holiday shopping (if you went shopping like we did 1-2 days prior to Christmas then you know it was a madhouse at any store), Celeste's little one gives us a low-down on parent-child relationships (sometimes our kids don’t like us sharing their business), and how we approach New Year’s resolutions including some tips on how to keep them for this coming new year.

We’re officially 6 days away from Christmas Day…say what?! Join us this week as we discuss how to deal with having to say “no” to invitations, what we’ve learned about how to say “no”, alternatives to giving our loved ones more stuff this Christmas (we promise this isn’t a bad thing), and our thoughts on how Monopoly “tears families apart”. Our main topic is finding joy in Christmas: how we navigate through the busyness of Christmas planning & prepping while still finding time to stop and enjoy the people & things that really matter. Tune in to hear us reminisce about how we were metiches/nosy as kids (FYI, we were a hawt mess!) and how being "in the know" is not always a bad thing. With information so easily accessible we might know a lot when it comes to other people's lives (ie celebrities, politicians etc) but sometimes we don't take the time to be "in the know" with things that are most important which in turn impact our interactions with others. Therefore, this week we'll be taking a hard look at our own lives and how we can be better at being intentional with what matters most.

Our conversation revolves around Brett McCracken's article: 8 Signs Your Christianity Is Too Comfortable. While we wish we had an infinite amount of time to discuss every point Brett addresses, we try to pinpoint some that have resonated with us as we work out our faith and who God has called us to be.
