Can we please get double episodes every week? That was excellent. I don't think we've ever seen a group of new players so smooth in their ability to deceive a returning player. Where does leaving the game holding an idol and an advantage fit in the spectrum of Survivor goofs? Who do you think will return from the Edge of Extinction, and who would you most like to see return if it's different?

The lack of variety in the shuffle proved disappointing to most as was this week's boot. Wendy's antics and Extinction Island stood out as polarizing topics. Some enjoy seeing life on Extinction while others view it as detracting from the active players. We're excited and looking forward to the double episode this week.

Well that was unexpected. We basically ended up with the same composition but split across three tribes. Original Kama maintains their dominance in the challenges. What did you think about the tribe composition and about the reasoning behind the vote out choice? What's your guess for why they teased a mad scramble at the Edge of Extinction next week?

With the exception of one "villain in the making from Texas", responses were unanimous this week against Wendy and her plan to deny her tribe of fire and some tasty chicken. We're anxious to see how Chris impacts the Edge of Extinction and we're excited to see how the shuffle to three tribes plays out on Wednesday.

Aubry got redemption from the editors this week. Her story arc underwent a significant recovery. What do you think that means for her longer term prospects? What are you expecting from the shuffle? Will Kama retain their control of the game when we shuffle to three tribes?

Responses this week split down on the middle on whether Keith would quit or go to the Edge of Extinction, but we were all disappointed that he felt the need to stop and seriously consider it. Most predict Manu will return for a third time to Tribal Council, but there is also some serious concern that Aubry's time is up.

How much danger are the returnees really in? The editing made it seem like a close call, but the result was a classic Tribal Council blindside. Do you think that someone who has to pause to consider the possibility of going to the Edge of Extinction really belongs on the show? Were they mugging for the camera?

It's time to get the super fan's assessment on the first episode of season 38. The only significant complaint from the premiere was that it was simply too short. We are used to getting more time too see how the tribes gel and a better sense of everyone's social skills. An hour is just not enough for a show this complex and nuanced. We are stoked for Wednesday night when we get the next installment of our favorite show!

Survivor season 38, Edge of Extinction, got off to a great start! We enjoyed getting a good look at the social vibe in each camp and we got a great challenge too. Welcome to Part 1 of our JABBIC show for season 38, Edge of Extinction. JABBIC stands for Judge A Book By Its Cover. It's a tradition here at SFP that kick it off with a preseason analysis of the castaways. We have shared our early thoughts on each of the castaways including how well we think they will do in the overall game as well as some details we gathered from the interviews to kick off another season of watching Survivor together.

What a delight this season turned out to be. Many of us were skeptical back in September when we kicked off this season, but thanks to a great cast and excellent editing it delivered in ways we never anticipated. We loved getting together this last time to celebrate Season 37, Survivor David vs. Goliath and "put a bow on it".

One of the big questions going into the finale was, "how's it all going to end"? We have been treated to a fantastic season. Would it go out with a bang or a whimper? We were delighted with the result and thrilled that the finale and the reunion show exceeded our expectations. Due to the complexity of the JSFL scoring, we will announce the final results on the LF show on Saturday.

We all sensed that it was inevitable, but that didn't make it any less sad when one of the fan favorites from this season was taken out just before the finale. On the flip side, there are still quite a few that we all hope make it to the end. We will all be cheering for them in the finale come Wednesday!

Here we are in the 37th season, after being on for over 18 years, and this group of castaways is still finding ways to surprise us. It's all framed perfectly with the amazing editing too. What did you think about the multi-faceted fake idol plan?
