On today’s edition of Family Talk, the Christian singer/songwriter shares that she identifies with many biblical characters who experienced a disruption in their lives. Similar to the Proverbs 31 woman, Laura has learned to laugh at the days to come, recognizing that we are indeed created by God to do good works.

When Laura Story, award-winning singer/songwriter, married her high school sweetheart, it felt like a fairytale come true. But then her husband, Martin, developed a brain tumor, and its removal left him with debilitating memory and sight problems. On today’s Family Talk, Laura declares, "So long, normal!" In her 2011 Grammy award-winning song, "Blessings," Laura asked God, "What if Your healing comes through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near? And what if trials in this life are Your mercies in disguise?" Through difficult experiences, Laura learned that the Lord does incredible things when we surrender our brokenness to Him.

Through My Father’s Eyes: The Legacy of Billy Graham | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

Through his worldwide ministry, the late Reverend Billy Graham led millions to a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Because of this, he changed the culture forever. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson and Billy’s son, the Reverend Franklin Graham, reflect on the life and legacy of Christianity’s most influential evangelist. After Billy went home to be with the Lord in 2018, Franklin was inspired to write about his father’s legacy and his personal relationship with the man he called “Daddy,” in his memoir, “Through My Father’s Eyes.” Even though Franklin strayed as a young man, he came to know Christ at age 22. When he shared the good news, his father said, “Your mother and I have been praying for this day for a long time!” You’ll hear about Billy Graham’s own conversion, his famed Los Angeles tent revival, and the Yankee Stadium crusade that drew over 100,000 people.

How are you honoring God with your finances? Matthew 6:24 says, "No one can serve two masters…you cannot serve both God and money." On today’s edition of Family Talk, the late Larry Burkett said there’s a reason why two-thirds of all Christ’s parables addressed the issue of money. It's a heart issue! How we utilize the resources the Lord entrusts us with is an X-ray of our priorities.

An Invitation to Prayer | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

When we heed God’s invitation to commune with Him in prayer, we can experience the fruits of the Spirit such as peace, patience, and joy. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Kathy Branzell, President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, explains that every fruit has a root. Philippians 4:6 counsels us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Throughout her 14-year-long battle with a brain tumor and her teenage son’s illness with a rare blood cancer, Kathy learned that God inclines His ear to hear our voice.

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson shares personal memories from his visit in 2010 to the Normandy American Cemetery in France, where 4,400 Allied soldiers are buried.  Millennials in America: Insights into a Generation of Growing Influence - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

On today’s edition of Family Talk, researcher George Barna continues to discuss his latest findings on Millennials to our own Dr. Tim Clinton. Barna reveals that 25-40 year-olds tend not only to reject the Bible as truth, but they also subscribe to the idea that truth comes from within. Ironically, most of them still consider themselves to be Christians. To Millennials, being a believer has nothing to do with Jesus, God, or the Bible. Rather, it’s just about being a good person. However, if they encounter authentic Christians whose lives have been transformed, they will listen. While we are sobered by the overwhelming statistical data that proves most Millennials lack a biblical worldview, we must remain encouraged that as Christians, we can offer them hope through our personal testimonies.

Millennials in America: Insights into a Generation of Growing Influence - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

Millennials in America are not only redefining sexuality, but our national values as well. On today’s edition of Family Talk, researcher George Barna explains to co-host Dr. Tim Clinton that the reason why people ages 25-40 are spiritually adrift is because nine out of ten grew up in households without a biblical worldview. No wonder 75 percent don’t have a clear purpose, and only 20 percent believe all life is sacred. Due to their secular experiences, Millennials are prone to give up on marriage, on having kids, and even on life itself. But authentic, caring Christians can easily point them toward the Lord and Heaven.

Creeds of a Warrior: Fighting Spiritual Battles | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

One of the biggest problems with American Christianity today is the misconception that God saved you only so you can go to Heaven. That’s not true! The Lord also saved you so that you could be a warrior in His kingdom here on earth. On today’s Family Talk, Lt. General (Ret.) Jerry Boykin, who commanded elite Delta Force combat missions, outlines the spiritual application of five revered and timeless military mottos. For example, Semper Fi, the Marine slogan which means "Always faithful," should remind us of our call to be faithful to God as He has always been with us. Galatians 6:9 says, "Let us not become weary in doing good."

 50 Years of Marriage: Our Success Story - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

According to Jon and Marylois Gibson, there are two important rules for a committed, dating Christian couple. #1: flee from sexual immorality. #2: receive premarital counseling. On today’s edition of Family Talk, we celebrate the Gibson’s 50th golden wedding anniversary, and together with their dear friend Dr. James Dobson, they discuss that God designed sex exclusively to cement husband and wife in the marital bed, and urge listeners to avoid temptation!

Throughout their relationship, the Gibsons have learned that love is not a feeling, but a commitment. As they prayed together, the Lord revealed that the key was to serve each other. By putting the needs of the other ahead of their own, Jon and Marylois were transformed by God’s grace.

Redeemed: My Journey After Abortion | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

Did you know that African Americans comprise of only 12% of the American population, but black women account for 40% of all abortions in the United States? The number one killer in the black community is not police brutality, drugs, or black-on-black crime. It’s the intentional killing of a human life inside the womb. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Toni McFadden explains that she aborted her baby when she was 18, scared and alone because she believed the abortion industry’s lies. After turning to Christ in college, she committed to chastity until marriage. Today, Toni and her husband, who was the father of her aborted baby and came back into her life years later, have four beautiful children. She now serves as a compassionate and bold voice for the voiceless.

 A Christian Response to Homosexuality - Part 2 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Christopher Yuan recounts his former lifestyle of homosexuality, drug use, and drug dealing. During that time, he had exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and was serving the creature rather than the Creator. Ultimately, it was his arrest, prison sentence, and HIV+ diagnosis that served as a massive wake-up call, resulting in Christopher giving his life to the Lord. After reading the Bible, he discovered that God’s unconditional love did not mean unconditional approval of his sinful behavior, and he realized that his identity must be found in Christ alone.

 A Christian Response to Homosexuality - Part 1 | File Type: audio/mp3 | Duration: 1555

At the tender age of nine, Dr. Christopher Yuan was exposed to pornography. That fantasy life led to his first homosexual encounter at the age of 16, and an ongoing attraction and lifestyle that persisted throughout high school, college, the Marine Corps Reserves, and dental school. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Christopher reveals how the Lord got his attention during his six-year prison sentence for selling drugs. His mother, Angela, earnestly prayed for him, fasting every week for eight years. When Christopher called his mother from his jail cell, she showed him God’s kindness which led him to repentance (Romans 2:4).
