FL 131 – We help Kevin choose a direction for his online business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:38

Need help choosing the direction of your online business? Listening in on today's episode might give you ideas as we help our guest navigate through his business and get a clearer direction for it. Joining us on air this week is FYL community member, Kevin DeWit. Kevin is a father who has always been fascinated with music, so fascinated that he had learned and developed his music mostly by himself. He became the family’s sole provider after losing his wife to cancer and has since been raising his wonderful kids on his own. He has 2 children, a son with autism and a daughter, diagnosed with Asperger’s. Time constraints and other demands from working full-time as a Network Engineer are slowly burning him out, so his goal is to make it online and get the freedom to be there for his kids. He created KdWMixingMastering.com, where he offers mixing, mastering and audio restoration services to people (mostly artists) who need help in achieving that professional sound. His music-oriented business has a lot of room to grow, but the frustration from its current lack of stability has led him to consider shifting skill sets. He has the IT know-how that may earn him his family's needed income online, although he isn't exactly as passionate about it as he is with music. Torn between two skills and pressed for time, we're going to help Kevin weigh in his options and explore the possibilities of scaling his online business. Everyone in the business has gone through this phase where they are presented with a fork in the road. Everybody has to decide at some point, and sometimes all it takes is a little push in the right direction. Tune in and learn how today's episode can help you navigate through yours. Don't miss it! He is someone who has inspired many (including us) with his down-to-earth personality and has helped hundreds of clients through his unique approach in handling Small Business Internet Marketing and SEO know-how. We have Flip Your Life community member, Bill Parlaman. Bill is married and is the father to 5 fantastic kids. He got involved in the online business scene back in 2006 and founded Radical Marketing Solutions right from his basement. He specialized in getting client websites more traffic, leads and sales. He made processes very easy to understand and delivered high yielding results. He was able to leave his full-time job as a Risk Control Manager because of his agency’s huge success. A few years later, he joined one of the largest marketing agencies in Philadelphia, and is currently serving as their Chief Digital Officer. It was an offer he just couldn’t miss. Things were going smoothly, until June 2016, when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer after going through a routine annual exam. It was this life changing event that forced him to rethink his priorities and focus on making huge lifestyle changes for the sake of his family. He managed to try several diet styles like the Paleo diet, and found that the Ketogenic type diet was what worked best for him. Throughout this transition, he has lost more than 60 pounds and has felt a surprising, steady flow in energy because of his commitment and determination to healthy living. After a successful major operation in September 2016 and having taken several weeks to recover from the biggest battle of his life, he is now 100% cancer-free. (Note: he was back in the forums after he had his surgery!)  FL 124 – We celebrate Marnie’s HUGE membership launch | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:51

Celebrating the New Year with a Success Story! Hey y’all! We wanted to start 2017 with a shout out to all our members, fans, listeners… all of you who have supported us through thick and thin, Happy New Year! Our first episode is an amazing success story from one of our FYL community members, Marnie Ginsberg, Ph. D. Marnie lives with her husband and 3 wonderful daughters in Madison, WI. She has been deeply involved with educational research and has been a teacher for about 20 years; her research focused on strategies to nurture readers and help them overcome learning hurdles. She also became a private tutor and consultant. Her passion and dedication led her to pursue her doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina, where she coached and guided teachers through a unique and dynamic K-2 reading intervention. This brought in promising results from students who struggled in reading and comprehension. Mrs. Ginsberg had long been intrigued by the online business scene. She has been building her blog and email list since 2015 and by October 2016, she had managed to reach a thousand subscribers. She then co-founded the Reading Simplified Academy and was successful in her recent membership launch. Join us as we talk about Marnie’s amazing journey. How did she reach her milestone, what did it take to be where she is today and the lessons she had learned along the way. We will also be brainstorming on how she can retain members and maintain the membership. The year has just begun. We have a lot in store for y’all! We've signed him up for a program called Center Shot, which is a program at our church that takes the sport of archery and applies biblical principles to it, and shows how it is like in archery we don't want to miss the mark, and the same thing is true in our faith.  It is cool to be able to go and volunteer in that sport.  FL 123 – Why we HATE the affiliate launch model: & how we keep our brand ad, affiliate, and guru-free | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:13

Yes, we said it. And we'll tell you exactly why we are not a big fan of affliates. We are going to tackle a topic that has been on our mind (and to be honest, getting on our nerves) for a while now: Affiliate Launches. SO many online marketers jump on the affiliate launch bandwagon. You know the drill. A guru has a new product, book or course.  Offers a great "opportunity" for other people online to sell it to their list...for a sweet commission of course.  And BOOM, inboxes around the world explode with message after message after message about this life-changing widget. Sigh. Affiliate launches kind of drive us crazy, not just because of the endless spamming, but because of the missed opportunities! What would happen if all of those affiliates focused on building their own brands, instead of someone else's? We get offered to join affiliate launches all the time.  We have always said no. Today we tell you why. On today's podcast, we are going to share our personal take and insight on why we want to keep our brand ad, affiliate and guru-free. We will also reveal our big surprise for the incoming year, future plans for our premium community and other good stuff y’all are going to find useful in your online business journey. Also, we want you to know that we are over-the-roof from all the success stories that we’ve received from our listeners, fans and members throughout the year. We are very proud of what you have accomplished and are excited for even greater successes to come! It has truly been an amazing and eventful year here at the Flipped Lifestyle, so we would like to thank every single one of you for your trust and continued support. Although 2016 is about to come to an end, we urge you to keep dreaming big, get out there and do whatever it takes to flip your life. [Tweet ""Control your own destiny. Jocelyn and I got to go with Isaac on a field trip to a local camp at a lake. The kids did all kind of cool things. They put a sock on and they were walking around to get dirt all over their feet so they can take them back and look at microscopes. They got little baby jars, and they got some water out of the pond, and they had like, a scavenger hunt where they had to go find pine cones, and leaves, and things like that, and it was just an all-day thing. They ate lunch there, and we got to go and hang out with Isaac, walking around the trails with him. We got to actually got to volunteer at the field trip. There were very few parents there, I was very surprised. We got to actually teach the kids how to fish. We got to show them how to cast fishing rods and reels. Need ideas on creating and optimizing sales funnels for your online business? Listen in as we help today's guest improve her current membership engagement through optimizing her sales funnel.
