Sally recommends that you step out of your comfort zone and try something new.  She went rock climbing on the weekend and found it completing terrifying, but exhilarating at the same time. Trying something new can help to open your eyes to new ideas in your creative work. Agnus wanted to share her love for television show, Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna. ally heard about this tv show on Young House Love Has a Podcast. You have to listen to it! John and Sherry are an absolute crack up and they talk about so many fun things to do with house improvement and life at home. Agnus uses traveler's notebooks to document her work and Sally uses a lot of moleskine notebooks. Riëtte is loving Bonnie Christine’s “The Roost Tribe”, Rachael Taylor’s “Make it in Design” course, Lilla Rogers’ “Make Art that Sells” course, Lisa Congdon’s “Daily Drawing Challenge: 31 Things to Draw” on Creative Bug and Pam Garrison’s “Daily Drawing Challenge: 31 Things to Draw with Pam Garrison” on Creative Bug.  Sally is excited by all of the weaving classes that are being run in her local area and by Loom & Spindle, which is a company making weaving equipment right here in Melbourne. (It is so tempting to sign up!) She is also enjoying the work of textile and fiber artist Rachel Denbow. Riëtte mentioned that she likes to crotchet Lalylala dolls (Aren't they so sweet?) alongside her granny squares and you can find the dolls on Etsy too. Sally has been loving Mollie Makes magazine and it is even better now that you can buy it from Woolworths here in Australia. Ariana recommends the Flow Book for Paper Lovers. These ones from Kikki K are super fun too. She also enjoys using her Happy Planner and Dear Lizzy products (How fun are these?) when creating her work. Sally has been working on her honeymoon travel journal and found this Magnolia Jane album by Heidi Swapp to be perfect for the job. December Daily is a challenging, but fun project by Ali Edwards to capture the holiday season. If you like the idea of doing 100 days of finishing off projects, Ariana suggests checking out @alltheneffyness on Instagram who is working on a similar task. Ariana's advice: Take your time. Don't compare yourself to other artists in the community. You have your own unique style so stick to it. Sierra is loving Marissa Huber's Commute Chats and she is on Instagram @marissahuber  and Sierra also mentions @carveouttimeforart that I think you'll enjoy.  Sierra also mentions Flora Bowley's rituals from her ecourse, Creative Revolution. Sally shares her obsession with Caroline Kelso's work. How uplifting is it? She's on Instagram @ckelso and her feed is just beautiful. Her love for Emily McDowell and her Empathy cards came up again. It is the Bruiser Bow Wow Resin Brooch, Augusta's original inspiration to start her shop came from the movie The Little Mermaid.  Augusta's Instagram feed has really blown up since @bargraf shared her work. She makes gorgeous work herself! Totally check her out. Augusta's advice: Really think carefully about what project you want to do and start when you are satisfied. In this episode we learn: Sally's soapbox choice is fine point Pilot Frixion Pens. (They don't seem to be available on Amazon, but how fun do these look?) Sarah had a lot of good pen recommendations, including tombows like these (which are the foundation for the #96daysoftombow challenge which she is doing.)  @brittanyluiz and @renmadecalligraphy are also doing some lovely lettering work as part of this challenge. Sarah got into lettering with courses with people like @lissletters (and there is a workbook available at lissletters.com) and @amandaarneill (and her course also looks great!) And these lettering challenges look really fun! Sarah's advice: Work with what you've got. Have a plan and write it down.

Sally is so excited to share her new haircut from Jess at Neel Loves Curls.  If you have curly hair and you aren't already using the 'Curly Girl Method', you need to get onto it. Graphic designer Lauren is digging the time she spent in Cornwall on an internship. There is definitely something to be said about putting yourself into new places and situations to stimulate creativity and learning from those who are more experienced than you. Lauren's advice: Start off with a plan. Think about what you are wanting to learn. Do some brainstorming and research into what you're doing. Break the project down into different areas.

In this episode, Jess loves the UK Scrap Addicts. They have a blog and a YouTube channel. as well as their Instagram account. Sally's soapbox choice this episode is Gretchen Rubin's Four Tendencies Quiz. She's an Obliger - what about you? Sally and Jess talk about Ali Edwards' December Daily and Week in the Life projects which are ways to document everyday life. Jess loves her Traveler's Notebook and finds keeping it by her bed to be a good way of using it daily to journal. Advice from Jess: Start Simply. In this episode, Sally celebrated using her one sentence a day journal every day for over 100 days. Her diary (pictured) came from Tanum Bookstore in Oslo, Norway, and was made by Swedish company, Rationella Media. If you're looking for something similar, you might like to try Gretchen Rubin's Sentence a Day journal. Sarah is really enjoying the music and lyrics of Brother Ali. Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers is a life changing and essential read for all creatives, particularly when examining the development your work over time. (10 000 hours!) Sarah's advice: Keep reminders around your house to inspire and motivate you. Everybody has 5 minutes free during the course of a day. In this episode, Stephanie shares awesome writing tool Scrivener. Sally talks about her love for Chris Guillebeau's podcast Side Hustle School. Stephanie wrote her first draft as part of NaNoWriMo. She is currently reading Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own, Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace,  and Stephen King. (If you're into writing, you must read King's book - On Writing.) Have you tried the Pomodoro technique for managing your time? Stephanie's advice: Be gentle with yourself. Speak to yourself how you would speak to a friend. Megan is loving the Illuminated Manuscripts that are available online from the British Library. Sally is sad that her 3am Notepad from Kikki K is nearly used up. It gives good, albeit somewhat cheesy, advice - Finish what you've started! (The exact one isn't available, but this notebook is similar.) Megan is sketching for her 100 day project. Kristin started off the show by sharing so many amazing things on the creative soapbox, including: Taking Skillshare classes Her love for her iPad Pro, iPencil and the Procreate app Podcasts she has been enjoying, like Creative Pep Talk and Found Sally then got distracted by the topic of podcasts and decided to talk about Mystery Show (including the case of the belt buckle!) and The Bestseller Experiment instead of her planned soapbox share. (Stay tuned for that one at a later date!) Kristin's advice for completing the project: Pick a project that doesn't take too long each day. Make it quick and manageable, then just keep going. You have 100 days to make it better.
