Sally talks all things self care for creatives and challenges you to ask yourself the following questions when considering you own self-care routines: Have you eaten? Have you drunk enough water? Have you exercised? Have you slept enough? Have you tidied? Have you socialised? Have you celebrated?

Episode 69: How do you deal with distraction? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:18:00

Brooklyn and Sally chat about how they deal with distractions. Sally has just finished reading Sheryl Sandberg’s Lean In and it is amazing. Our favourite phrase this episode: How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by your mental load? Do you use Google Calendar? Do you think anyone ever wished they spent more looking at Instagram on their death bed? (I love this Tracey Ullman sketch about it!)

Episode 68: What do you wish you knew how to do? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:16:30

Anna wishes she was better at drawing things that look exactly like the thing they are meant to be. Dancing is something that Sally wishes she was better at. Coordination is not exactly her strong point now as an adult. Anna has tried pottery and it wasn’t for her. Elise Blaha Cripe (who was on the show back in Episode 50) went through a pottery phase and made it look totally doable. Sally’s nemesis is crochet. This is the daisy pattern blanket that Sally wants to be able to make, but there is a big gap between her level of skill and the skill needed to make this blanket!

Episode 67: How do you do social media? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:32:00

In this episode, Sally and Lauren talk all things social media - the things they do, the things they don’t and all of their favourite hints and tips.

Episode 66: Who would be your dream collaboration? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:16:00

Leanne would love to have an exhibit at the National Gallery. We have an amazing branch of it here in Victoria - the NGV. She would also like to work with Australian author Mem Fox. (Her book Possum Magic is one of my favourites!) Sally would love to collaborate with Andy Griffiths who writes the funniest stories for Middle Grade readers. (Plus, get your copy of Double Felix and I’ll send you a free bookplate for it!) Leanne thinks Twig & Olive Photography is amazing and Ashlee Gadd of Coffee and Crumbs takes beautiful photos too. Joy Cho of Oh Joy! is one of Sally’s all time favourites. Do you think she should start doing “outfit of the day'“ Joy style? Also Kelly Mindell of Studio DIY is just gorgeous. Have to tried Demeter scents? Would you like to smell like grass? Kitten fur? Wet garden? Thankyou are doing some amazing things too and their work is world changing. Have you come across Samantha Gash or Alexandra Hemingsley? Do you find exercise helps you in your creative work? Also - if the BBC wants to work with Sally on anything, they should definitely get in touch.

Episode 65: What is your earliest creative memory? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Sally and Anna talk about their memories of creativity in their childhood. Anna loved the untapped potential of journals. Do you have a favourite notebook or journal now? Sally has become particularly particular about her favourites. (These Paperchase ones are her fave - good line size and paper quality combined!) Sally loved the Useful Box that her mother put together inspired by the television show ‘Play School’. Have you seen it? Do you think working with your hands makes a difference to how well you can remember something? Do you think just working creativity using technology will have an impact on the creativity of children growing up now?
