Happy National Quilting Day! What did you do to celebrate? I am working on quilting this quilt: And I also did some hand quilting at the shop while The Girl took her sewing class. At least I did until I broke my bazillionth needle. Then I just shopped. Who can blame me, though? I was in a shop. With quilting stuff! I couldn't resist. This episode is special because it is The Husband's birth year (73). He is on this show, so be warned...much straying from the subject occurs when The Husband has a say. If you live in Northeast Ohio and are looking to enter a quilt show...might I suggest this one? Please! Enjoy the show! Thank you for listening and have a great week. Quilt on!

I finished the cloverleaf quilt! Here is another teaser view: Have you heard of the show Sherlock? You can catch it on Netflix. Also I get to hand over this quilt tomorrow: It is always exciting (and a little sad) to send a quilt to it's forever home. I talked about a great class I finished watching on Craftsy, "Hand Quilting with Andi Parejda." If you are new to hand-quilting this class is for you. Andi goes over everything...thread, needles, batting, fabric, hoops, marking tools, and lots of other stuff. I also signed up for another class - "Sew Retro Perfect Bombshell Dress." It was a reward for making a weight loss goal, and I wanted it to be inspiring yet not about quilting. We'll see how it goes! You can click here to listen to (or download, if you right-click and choose ‘save as’) the show. Don’t forget to leave me a comment and say hi. Thank you for listening and have a great day!
Today I talked about this awesome book: [Note this is an affiliate link to Amazon] I've been seeing it around the blogosphere a lot and after picking it up twice in the book store I decided it was time to take it home. You can click here to listen to (or download, if you right-click and choose ‘save as’) the show. Don’t forget to leave me a comment and say hi. Thank you for listening and have a great day!
So will you take the challenge? For the rest of the year, when someone compliments a quilt you made/are making, you must accept the comment graciously with a simple 'thank you' and NO self-flagellating or disparaging remarks! Got it? You can read about Angela Walters using this rule here. If you like Darla's podcast, The Scientific Quilter...head on over here and give her some love. Did you go to your LQS for quilt shop day? I did! I bought thread & some new machine needles. You can click here to listen to (or download, if you right-click and choose ‘save as’) the show. Don’t forget to leave me a comment and say hi. Thank you for listening and have a great day!
