Ooops. We’re a week late. You can blame that on my galloping whooping cough which made it impossible to chit and chat. However, we’re back now and looking at the opening chapter of the next DP storyline by Morrison and Case… Doom Patrol #46
It’s time to turn our attention to Doom Patrol #9. And it’s by Byrne, of course. And in addition to the Doom Patrol, it’s co-starring one of the greatest heroic inventions to ever come out of the swinging sixties – Metamorpho the Element Man!
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #45… and it’s one of those “take a breather episodes”. A beautiful, hilarious done-in-one that puts the Chief up against… the Beard Hunter!
It’s Doom Patrol #8, by John Byrne. It’s the final chapter of the Doom Patrol vs the de-volvo ray! And even though we just read it… I don’t really remember how it all ended. But there’s still lots of dinosaurs and punching… and a DEATH!
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #44… the Doom Patrol vs the real (we mean it this time) Men from NOWHERE.
We’re looking at John Byrne’s Doom Patrol #7 starring Nudge, a blue kid and a whole lotta monkeys! Yeah the rest of the Doom Patrol shows up, too, but we get to watch Nudge flirt with a ghost, start to confront her past and scam a poor old hard working taxi driver out of his fare. On the plus side? Lots and lots of monkey action!
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #43 by Grant Morrison and guest artist Steve Yeowell. It’s a bit of a breather issue… the Doom Patrol gets comfortable on their new headquarters of Danny the Street, Flex Mentallo gets a costume (a teeny tiny one with spots) and we get to meet the Men from N.O.W.H.E.R.E. Again.
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #6 by John Byrne. The Doom Patrol finishes off their robot wars. Plus… dinosaurs!
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #42 by Grant Morrison and Mike Dringenburg. It’s the secret origin of Flex Mentallo – the greatest character find of 1991. And he kinda, really is!
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #5 by John Byrne, in which Robotman loses his head when he’s forced to fight other robots to the death.
Scott and Murray are looking at Doom Patrol #41. The Doom Patrol ends the war in space and Rhea decides what to do with her life.
We’re still back! This time we’re looking at Doom Patrol #4 by John Byrne and company. The DP is battling underwater nasties with tentacles and things.
We’re still back. Last week wasn’t a fluke. We’ve made it through cyber space and ready to talk all things Doom Patrol. This week, Scott and Murray are looking at Doom Patrol #40. It’s Morrison and Case and more religious wars in space. I think.
We’re back! After far too long an absence, we’ve battled back the insidious Brain and M. Mallah and now we’ve got Doom Podtrol Central back up and running. Clearly, we need one of the Chief’s super computers working for us. In any case, we’re looking at Doom Patrol #3 by John Byrne and company. The team gets new uniforms (and we learn the real reason why Nudge was killed off) and they investigate an alien weirdo in the frozen wastes of the antarctic.
We’re looking at Doom Patrol #39. Strange stuff is happening in the background while the religious space war continues in the main story. Plus! A couple of characters get a new look!
