I really wanted this episode to reflect the true nature of Spring: hope, awakening, energy, a promise of summer adventures to come, longer days, finally feeling the heat of the sun again after a long winter, anticipation and a re-birth. It has been FOREVER since I've posted any mixes for all of you as it has been a CRAAAZZZY month of June! Just returned from playing in Trafalgar Square (London, UK) for Canada Day London and then ROCKING the afterparty at Café de Paris in Picadilly. Great crowds and the music had that place absolutely bumpin'! It was an set that ran from 11:00pm to just before 1:00am - it's obvious from the shape of the mix. Starts deep but distinctly funky, pushes to ass shakin' vocal house, has touches of the stuff you know well and love, and finishes with a classic crack of energy. As far as personal favourites go, Eric Prydz is at the very top of my all time list. His music has always spoken to me on a level none other has been able to. All at the same time his music is the essence of progressive house, it is melodic, it is soulful, it is deep, it exudes all kinds of energy, it makes you want to dance, it relaxes you, it takes you to another place and it is the ultimate big room house music sound.
