During Timothy Rose's time at sea as an Officer in the U.S. Marines he did something that most do not; wrote his first horror novel. The hours spent by others on ship watching movies or playing games were instead used by Tim to invest in his lifelong passion for creative writing. Listen to his story about how he used principles learned through the military to enhance his systematic approach to self-publishing. Tim announces his first book The Legend of the Colonel's Revenge that hit #1 on Amazon.
Getting news of the "C" word for many would be a life stopping diagnosis. But for Krista Anderson of ESSTAR, this drove a dramatic lifestyle change that ignited her passion for creating a healthy food company to improve the lives of others on the go.
In response to a quarter life crisis, most of us may recede into our normal patterns of behavior and forget about the possibilities available to us. Amber Ikeman, a musician and new found adventurer, decided to say no to her "plan B" to pursue a life of uncertainty. The spice of learning combined with her passion for continued growth drove her across the United States to fight the internal battle between should's and shouldn'ts.
The hard truth is we have the same amount of time as our mentors and heroes do. What makes them different? How do they manage to achieve what they desire out of life that we are missing out on?
Leadership is not always as complicated as we make it. While some may believe leaders only exist in the work place, Lao Tzu challenges us to think back to the roots of historical happiness and reveal contrasting yin & yang mindsets.
We speak about Dale Carnegie's influence in an interview with Jeremy Hopper, a budding Carnegie advocate. He discusses how to influence teams and make a difference in leadership by exemplifying the Golden Book.
You can't get it perfect and you can't get it wrong. A mantra that is good to hear when going on a new venture. Whether it be entrepreneurial, personal or for creativity. Starting a project is the most difficult part of the process.
You better slow down, don't dance so fast, time is short, the music won't last. Life isn't a race, so take it slower, hear the music before your song is over.
Only 43% of all workers in the world are happy with their current careers. That is a low statistic, and it’s causing us to look for other options. A 2008 news release published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that baby boomers held an average of 10.8 jobs from ages 18 to 42.
You might not think it's possible to do something you love while making a living. But Andrew has done just that. Through his YouTube channel he has made vlogging content available to his subscribers and tells a compelling story of his transformation from engineer into Internet star.
Are you a victim of self-help addiction? Millions of Americans spend their days reading self-help books without committing to making positive changes in their life.
Most of us would completely waste an additional hour if we were somehow granted 25 total hours a day by a magic genie. In this podcast we find out why.
Chris Sgammato, sole creator and producer of Inertia The Musical, interviews with us on The Daily Inspiration to explain how he conceived the musical from beginning to end.
Today on The Daily Inspiration Podcast we have an exciting interview with Laura Shannon, author of Be Happy Now: Simple Steps to Enjoying Life, a book about embracing every moment of our life and being happy. She’s here to share her story, how she found inspiration for writing her book and the successful community she’s built with her blog. Shortly after finding out she needed a life threatening neurological operation her eleven year old daughter passed away suddenly in a tragic car accident. Ever since this point in time Laura has spent her life looking at things from a fresh viewpoint and invested herself in writing a book as well as sharing her spirit of positivity with others. Most of us would probably agree that a happy life is a good life, regardless of the other factors. So if being happy is one of the most important keys to enjoying life, then why is it that we aren’t taught how to be happy? Perhaps we never knew that happiness can be taught. Perhaps we don’t know that it is possible to control our emotions or our state of mind. If people took as much time working on happiness, as we do other goals in life we would all be happy today. When you are in a state of gratitude you are focusing on the positive, instead of dwelling on what you wish were different. There are so many things in life that we take for granted. When you take time to focus on these, you are generating feelings of happiness. Be grateful for the life that you have right now. Don’t get caught up in waiting for a “better” life tomorrow. Laura shares tips for grounding yourself and some teasers as to the exercises within her new book.
