We the People: Our Allegience | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 44:40

Series: "We the People" | Part 1… Many of us are passionate about our views and the direction we believe the country should go and we are armed with one vote. We must see our politics through the lens of our faith and not the other way around. The goal not that we pass the right laws, elect the right people, or establish the right government, but that God’s people are made right with Him. So, as we embark on our three-week series entitled We The People, we want you to stop and think what glasses you are wearing and how this lens is shaping your response to the political process. If politics make you angry and leads you to think about people in ways that are less than loving, you need to check your glasses. If politics make you anxious and you are terrified of the wrong person being elected, you need to check your glasses. If politics make you believe that we are electing someone who will save our world from its sins, you need to check your glasses. It is time for “We The People” to look through the lens of our faith and allow the reality of God and the Truth of His word to define how we see this earthly rule in light of the Heavenly One.

The Foundation for Friendship | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 43:56

Series: "Handshakes & High Fives", Part 3… If you want to find a friend, you have to be a friend. This bit of advice we learned early on in elementary school and have been trying to implement ever since. The desire to be accepted began as a kid has followed us through adulthood. In order to achieve acceptance as an adult, we’ve become strategic with our friendships and experts at self-preservation. We choose our friends based on how we will be perceived by other people, especially those we wish to impress. Our friendships are useful to achieve our personal ambitions and we use people instead of loving them. Sadly, as a result, we are left lonely and isolated, not because we aren't popular, but because we aren't known. In this series, we want to explore the idea of friendship in a way that doesn't use the Bible as a tag or an add-on, but serves as the very foundation for friendship.
