Lisa Schubert is an assistant professor of occupational therapy at University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a post-professional doctoral student at Boston University. Ms. Schubert will be discussing the topic of health literacy and its importance in occupational therapy practice with Dr. Kris Barnekow, assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Together, they will be identifying both research evidence and recent social policy on the topic of health literacy, along with a discussion on the recent adoption of AOTAâ??s Societal Paper on Health Literacy on April 12, 2011.
