Episode 2: Retreats and Prepper Groups-Pitfalls and Positives | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:34:15

Today we talk about the Pitfalls and Positives of forming “Prepper Group’s” and Retreats. This in part because I’ve seen some talk of it on the Forum, and many other forums as well.  Those on the forum that have been talking about it seem to know alot about the subject, but i wanted to plug my few cents in, and decided to just do a podcast on it. The main positives are two fold Enhanced Security Combined Resources Like mindedness and understanding Pooled experience and talents The main pitfalls are Personality conflicts Failed expectations Anger over some giving more than others Close quarters and lack of personal space My recommendations and opinions are that if you are to wish to start a group you should become friends first and iron out any personality clashes early or move on You should also have an understanding that those with more financial security are going to contribute more, but those who dont have that security need to bring experience and knowledge to the table to make up the difference. I have the same opinion as Jack Spirko on THE SURVIVAL PODCAST in that you should, if possible look at a large adjoining land purchase and parcel out the areas to each individual/family so that each of them has their own section that they grow their own food and maintain.  This way there is less of a chance that people will accuse one of doing more than the other, this plays well into the common American need for personal and private space.   GREAT NORTHERN PREPPER OUT!   Want to help support the site? find out more here!  Episode 1: Introduction and My philosophy on Preparedness | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:24:40

Today Is my inaugural Podcast I was born and raised in Alaska and joined the Marine Corps right out of High School.  I spent the next four years deploying to Iraq, and training for the next deployment.  After my time in the Marine Corps I went to work for a Private Security Company in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I became interested in prepping through a friend there who introduced me to J.W. Rawles book “How to Survive the End of the World As We Know It”.  After that i began to read more and more about things from food storage to gardening and Permaculture.  After I began to listen to Jack Spirko’s “The Survival Podcast” and was very much inspired by the ethos of prepping out of “intelligence” and not out of “fear” I then have since launched The GREAT NORTHERN PREPPER SITE, BLOG and now PODCAST. I thank you for your time in visiting and listening to the podcast, it is very humbling and I am most appreciative.     Want to help support the site? find out more here!
