Hearing the Message, Part 3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Dec 13, 2012 - Dec 17, 2012 Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35 Significant things often begin in seemingly insignificant ways. When sound waves enter the human ear, they bounce off three tiny bones: the hammer, the anvil, and the stirrup. The resulting vibrations send a message to the brain where logic is employed in the decision-making process. Then, the hearer takes certain action steps based on the words heard.  Learning the Background, Part 3 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Dec 10, 2012 - Dec 12, 2012 Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Galatians 4:4-5 God doesn't rush. Carefully and sovereignly He works to reveal His glory. From the morning sunrise, which slowly spreads its rays across the face of the earth, to the unfolding of His plan in each of our lives, God takes His time to achieve His will. How unlike us! We are impatient, anxious, and impulsive, wondering why things haven't happened as quickly as we wish. Sometimes we forget the words of Psalm 115:3: “Our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.” From Heaven to Earth: The Story of Christ's Coming read more

The Backbone of Biblical Prophecy, Part 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Dec 6, 2012 - Dec 31, 2012 Daniel 9:20-27 People often make the mistake of not only judging books by their covers but also by their length—believing that longer is more difficult and shorter is easier. Many times it is the reverse. This is especially true of the last four verses in Daniel 9. They are not difficult to read but pose a challenge to understand. Daniel had Gabriel to help him. We'll rely on the Holy Spirit and the rest of God's Word, not only to help us understand this prophecy of the 70 weeks but also to help us apply some principles to our lives. Dec 3, 2012 - Dec 5, 2012 Daniel 9:1-19 The gradual eroding of the Judeo-Christian ethic to reveal a more secular society does not bode well for any nation, not just Canada. Daniel understood that national sins—forgetting God—lead to discipline, so at the dawn of a new administration he prayed for his nation, Israel. And he left us an example to follow. Nov 28, 2012 - Nov 30, 2012 Daniel 8 Two years elapsed between Daniel's first vision in chapter 7 and his second vision in chapter 8. Like the first, this vision involved animals. Unlike the first, this vision provides great detail about one of the most famous men in history, about one of the least known men in history, and about one who will appear in the future and will be the most nefarious man in history. To Daniel, it was all future. To us, most of it is history—a history worth studying to prepare us for the future. Daniel, Volume 2: God's Plan for the Future
