Great Ocean Road, Shipwreck Coast, Victoria, Australia 12.22pm Season: Summer Temperature: 28ºC, 82ºF Elevation: 1m, 3ft Barometric Pressure: 1018.2 hPa GPS: S38º 38’ 48.1”, E143º 04’ 14.4” Directions: From Port Campbell drive east for approx. 5 minutes. Follow signs to the Loch Ard Gorge. Once at the carpark you will see the steps down to the beach. In 1878 the 2 survivors of the shipwrecked Loch Ard clipper sheltered in this bay overnight. In the morning, cabin boy Tom Pearce climbed these cliffs to reach safety and get help for the only other survivor, Eva Carmichael.

Once at the skifield, take the main chairlift for this spectacular view of the Queenstown region.

Park your vehicle and walk down towards the lake for this stunning view. Mt Cook is to your right beyond the head of the lake.

After about 5km turn right onto Braemar Road (unsealed). Stay to the left of any fork in the road. This picturesque view of the Ben Ohau Range is taken from approx. 4.5km down Braemar Road on the left hand side.

After about 40 minutes drive you will come to the Roaring Meg lookout on the Kawarau River. About 200m before the Roaring Meg is a small side road on your right. Park your car and walk down the track for some great vantage points of this beautiful river.

Track starts behind the shelter and takes approximately 1 hr.

Take the first road on the right once you cross the Kawarau River. There are a number of orchards in this area.
Arrowtown, South Island, New Zealand 11:07am Season: Winter Temperature: 9ºC, 48ºF Elevation: 406m, 1332ft Barometric Pressure: 1006.1 hPa GPS: S44º 56’ 11.4”, E168º 49’ 52.5” Directions: From Queenstown take Gorge Rd past Arthurs Point and continue on Malaghan Road. Follow the signs to Arrowtown and drive down to the river for a stroll through the morning mist along this peaceful river.

After approx. 6km you will pass the turnoff to Mt John observatory. Keep going and follow the signs to Lake Alexandrina (approx. 7km from Mt John turnoff).

Once at the skifield, take the main chairlift to the top. Climb up the hill in front of you and look off to your right for this sweeping view of the mountains.
